Back in my project management days, I would have to travel via NYC airports, to visit customers located around the area. There was an odor that would burn your sinuses that would start coming thru the ventilation about 5 minutes before passing over or landing at Newark.

 

May have been Nathan's Hot Dogs you were smelling.

I once dropped a meat load in Brooklyn where the Chinese guys running it spoke only Chinese, the Puerto Rican warehouse guys only spoke Spanish and the only guy who spoke English was the black guy lumping trailers.

 

Delivered to a place in Jersey - everyone spoke Spanish, the only guy who spoke English was out to lunch.

In Cali we have the Cesspool that is the greater LA basin.

The Dot-Comies and other pack of Fools in the SF bay area.

And well a bunch of Cattle ranchers, lumber folks, and rice growers north of Sacramento.

All different bites of the same excrement sandwich.

 

Been there a fair bit. I speak passable Spanglish, so it gets entertaining when me and a bunch of Puerto Ricans get to jabbering. Somehow we all end up comprende' n what everybody is trying to say.
