My truck ain't exactly hospital clean like some folks, but I do keep the trash in a bag and the specimen bottles stowed discretely. Even dust the dash once in a while. I do get lazy on the windows sometimes though. Actually I'd probably crack my head more often if I couldn't see where the door glass is by the dog snot on it. Here's Lucy putting on another coat for my safety.

So anyway, I was out today to meet my glass guy and got my windshield replaced, and decided to visit Ham Radio Outlet to pick up a 12v outlet for my new dash cam. Turns out, they had one ready made with PowerPole connectors that will make a snap fit with the power supply already in my overhead for radios. But that wasn't the best part of the visit.

As I pulled into the lot, there's a bobtail backed in next to the building and I did a double take when I saw the company name. It was a guy I've been in touch with via a FB group I've been on a while. He lives near Augusta, GA. and we've talked over the phone a few times, but I've never managed to meet up with him. Got to finally meet the man and check out his not so new anymore T680. If I had to guess where I'd randomly run into someone like that, this location would be way down on the list a few rows up from the Last Place on Earth.

Too bad he was on his way to Texas or I'd have dinner company. Maybe next time.

Victor King was my second trainer. Super nice guy. He's in that picture Rocks. Taught me a lot. I still keep in touch with him even though he works somewhere else. Stopped training so he could be home daily. His dad was a trucker back in the 50-70s then he and his brother took over for their dad back in the 70s. He got back into trucking in the early 2000s as an O/O hauling travel trailers to Canada. He knew where all the best places to eat across the country. Everyday with him ended with a good meal. :tongue8:

Rocks, thanks for the compliment of the 'smilies'. I started embracing them cause of you. You really inspired many of us on this thread. Everyone loves your uses of 'smilies', photos, et. :biggrin_25514:

Does anyone keep a portable vacuum in their truck ? Thinking of buying one. Tired of going to Blue Beacon to use theirs.

A great trainer and best places to eat.... Yes... that was a successful training... not only truck driving training but also eating out training... :biggrin_25519: I know someone who is like you guys.... he likes eating at restaurants and diners on the road... he enjoys gourmet meals and doesn't mind spending money with that...

Bought this one at Walmart. It plugs into 120v. Works pretty good for its size but the filter plugs pretty fast due to it's size. Good for about two vacuumings before you have to dump it.

If I had carpet in my truck worth vacuuming, I'd probably get one of those mini shop vacs and run it off my inverter. My dog has very short hair that really doesn't come even lift good with my big shop vac at home. So I use a broom when it bothers me. Driver floor mat is a office-style carpet square from Dollar Tree, cut to fit around the pedals. Just shake it out, or throw it away, depending on how dirty it is and with what substance.
