That's very kind of you to do. It took nearly 4 years for my parents to get divorced... Each had criminal charges raised against the other, and my mother served jail time as a result of one accusation.

It's been my experience that even amicable separations become hostile once the law gets involved.

I'm glad you were able to be the adult in that situation though. You should be proud of yourself.

 

Thanks . Feeling better [physically] now. Forgot my last dose of meds this morning, but I'll take it when I get home... I haven't been on schedule with them at all anyway lol. Still not really sure what it was - Wednesday will be 8 weeks that I've had the cough , but I finally feel it going away.

My mom asked my dad for a divorce over 4 years ago and he refuses. Neither of them can afford to move out on their own, so it's a pretty hostile environment at their house. I stopped going all that much - when I'm there, my dad will say how much he hates my mom, call her nasty names, and my mom tells me she wishes he'd drop dead or do himself in already.

I had decided when I got divorced, I was way too young to settle for a life like the one my parents' had turned into. That's horrible that yours ended up having criminal charges brought up against each other in it. Mine was uncontested, the ex paid the $400 fee, and while we are still friends on FB we don't talk. I only keep him on there to keep tabs on the cat I left behind (not because I wanted to leave him, but he always was more my ex's cat) because he's had eye surgeries and is getting older.
