    Mausers are easy to date and read. Military rifles are always stamped with a code indicating the arsenal in which they were built.

    My '41 K-98 was made at Mauserwerke in Berlin. My '45 was made at Waffen Werke in Bystrica, Czechoslovakia during the occupation.

    Enfields are a different story though, and hard to date due to the lack of harmony amd consistency between the arsenals that built them.
