Long before today's I68--40/48--also lovingly refered to as "The cracker route" was the only way out of Md/N. Va w/Hazmat west to avoid the Pa Pike tunnels...or tolls for those of us who wouldn't pay them.....fun times...and Im gonna have to search thru old boxes--and try to find this pic---there used to be a mandatory on 40 above laVale--that had the typical sign describing the descent you were about to begin...and just beyond that sign was a Warning said that simply stated "TRUCKERS if your BRAKES FAIL--STOP IMEADIATELY!!!!!"---always got a good chuckle outta that one...but fun times w/a wagon w/single action brakes on bias tires....
Oh and on another note...I have the feeling Pete and Tangerine are referring to 2 different LODI'S about 2400 miles apart--LOL
