Metallica tour Owl story part two
In our last episode an owl head came through the windshield and left a nice hole and hundreds of tiny cuts on my face from tiny shards of glass. Most of them were picked out by a bunch of guys who only moments before had been partying in the front lounge and away we went. It couldn't have been more than thirty minutes after we took off again that I ran into some rain. I couldn't turn on the wipers (I tried...it didn't work) and so I just hoped the rain would go away. It didn't...in fact within a few miles it was so hard I was only running about 30 mph and the rain coming through the hole felt like a heavy shower. About that time the CB lit up and another driver from the tour said "Doc, there has to be something wrong because I have NEVER seen you going so slow" and I told him what happened. He said "Just tuck in real close behind me and maybe it will keep most of the rain off of you" so I did and it did, but now here we are busting down the big road at 80 mph with only about 10 feet between us. Fortunately after only about 20 or 30 minutes we ran out of the rain and it was a good thing because I was perspiring so much the rain through the window meant little by that time. My guys went back to partying and we slammed on to Atlanta, but the story still isn't over yet....part three coming soon to a board near you!RedForeman, horsecrazychic22, TruckDuo and 8 others Thank this. -

Same 88 ranger I spoke of before...he told me that if I passed his exam, he'd give me the truck and pay for my insurance... I accepted.
It was a manual tranny... I miss it actually. But he filled a solo cup, put it in the cup holder and told me which direction to turn.
He took me from the house, around town, and in light traffic... Pretty much double the trouble and distance of the DMV...I passed.
It was a 3 part lesson... One, just because a liquid is clear doesn't mean it's water. Two, drive steady and sure. Three, never, ever get into a vehicle with open alcohol in it.
He still won't tell me if he actually had vodka or water in that cup...horsecrazychic22, TruckDuo, chopper103in and 3 others Thank this. -
