daddy didn't raise a slacker that's for sure. it's that good old raised on the farm work ethic. it's all I've ever known. I could have retired 5 years ago when I left aviation and dumped my severance into the rental houses. figured I'd be lazy and collect rent and live well and could have.....but I got bored lol.......that and somewhere in the back of my mind scared the old man was going to be looking over my shoulder ready to whip my ### for not working when I was more than able to do so.

that's what's wrong with this country anymore. kids aren't being raised to know the value of an honest hard day's work. I raised my son that way even though it #### near killed us both from ages 14-18. he thanks me for it now at 30 though seeing what he has and how far ahead of his friends he is.

I do relax when I get the chance. just seems like it is very few and far between......but the payoff is the day I do decide to retire and hang it up I'm gonna live very well and know my wife will never ever have to work even long after I'm gone

Thats awesome bro. Your family is truly blessed to have you.

My first career choice was wanting to be a pilot. Then my grandma got sick and was in a high rise hospital. I looked out the window and it scared me to death. I was like I'll stick with something that keeps me closer to the ground.

wasn't always that way. i went through a period in my late teens / early 20's where i ended up living not such a respectable life and living in my car an entire winter. to say it was motivating would be an understatement lol

but i am living proof that anybody can pull themselves up from homeless jobless nothing to financially independent if they truly want it and are willing to make the sacrifices to get it.

The day was beautiful and I decided to go out for a walk... Didn't know there is a nice park nearby... :biggrin_25519:

I think there was some Memorial Day celebration there this weekend...

    Nice place to walk around...

There's also a public swimming pool in this park....

    They charge U$10.00 for adults...

Wish I had known it earlier... Would like to swim some... I miss exercising in the water...

Well... at least I walked all around and exercised some...

Wow rocks you take beautiful pictures!!

Just finished my walk finally was able to do 5 miles. On my way back I didn't feel my key in my pocket. So I was looking and stressing hoping I didn't have to back track. And didn't see it and then when I get close to the truck there it is still in the door. Dang it sucks getting old.

At least you weren't going down the road lol I've done it twice now. Once a guy hollered at me on the radio told me my keys were in the door. That's a long reach down to the key slot from the drivers seat.

Couple weeks ago I went 300 miles one rest area to the next they were still in the passenger door from where I'd grabbed the trash bag out at the last rest area.

I'm getting that ever growing coverage of gray hair honest that's for sure lol

I take it you were grateful you didn't oil your key slot? :)
