No. I think I still have some retirement home brochures left under my wipers from the last time I thought it was a good idea to go to the Atlanta Petro because it was Sunday and I had somewhere to go 1st thing Monday.

Didn't quite mean that to sound as harsh as it did (see above). I had the opportunity to try Uber a few months ago, and found it easier than even imposing on a local friend to come by and give you a ride. Makes calling taxis seem downright primitive.

I didn't take it harshly at all. It's actually something I failed to do once so I learned the hard way that it might actually be worth going that route. And I use uber all the time now when I get to the yard for hometime to get me to the local car rental agency. Uber is a great service.

Uber is the ####. We use it to go on day excursions. Still pissed at San Antonio for banning them. I wanted my John Wayne Alamo picture. :protest:

enjoy it while you can. been hearing a lot on the radio lately about many cities and municipalities looking hard into ways to regulate and/or tax it's drivers as a taxi service or something similar. they're losing a lot of tax revenue on it and the taxi companies have their panties all in a wad about it over lost revenue

I don't think it will fall that quickly. Surprisingly, here in Atlanta, they won a judgement to allow them to pickup passengers at the ATL airport. I think the genie is far enough out of the bottle to keep popular opinion on their side. Only a few municipalities that think the government knows best for them will crack down.

Well hopefully won't need it much longer anyway. I just signing a lease on an apartment this weekend so I figure since I'm not living out of hotels anymore on hometime it's time to buy a cheap servicable car.

i hope you're right. you're definitely right about whether they lean red or blue will have a big bearing on it i think a change in mindset in Washington will help too. hopefully that's coming too.

san fran has already all but killed the air b&b thing by making anyone participating pay a hotel tax because of 'length of stay' is less than 30 days. but I'm sure many will still find a way to skirt the rules.

R&L bout took my hood off sitting here in the rest area on my 30. stuffed his doubles in a non-existent parking spot he couldn't get the back set out of . had to back up so he could get out.

I finally got out of Prescott but not in time to make the delivery cutoff so I'll deliver in the morning. Parked here at the loves in Ardmore.

Got some sad news that my dad had passed away this morning while en route. It was not unexpected as he had been in bad shape for a while.

But I got a call from Freight Watch that, after last night, put me over the edge. After they complained that I had been parked for over an hour without calling, I politely informed them that I had just received word that my dad had died and calling them wasn't on my list of priorities.

The guy said he was "Sorry to hear that" but that I was aware of their policies and my repeatedly not calling them would be noted as a violation.

I was like OK dude last time I checked my paycheck wasn't signed by Freight Watch but do whatever you feel is needed.

They asked if I would call them when I made delivery.

    I hung up after that.

I am going to ask for combat pay for dealing with these people.
