I wish someone would park next to me so I can walk inside

Flying J in spiceland. Pretty solid day but as is usually the case on these Arcadia trips I could only get east of indy and not through. unless I start fresh at the DC in advance I'm just short on time to get out the other side so I end up on this side of indy.

picked up my load this morning and it's 9k of unboxed plate glass table tops. 5 metal pallet/racks and standing upright 4X4 sheets of beveled glass. that should ride well on Indiana roads lol anyway.......opened it up to check securement and you've got to be kidding me......the guy that picked it up only put one of the small 5/16" ribbon straps across the back pallet / rack. these tiny straps only have a working load strength of about 300lbs and are used to secure small furniture items on the LTL loads. for a 9k load? I don't think so. have to wonder sometimes if people really ARE just that brain dead.

jumped up in there and took some pics to document and cya just in case and showed them to the transportation mgr before I left and put 3 of the full size ratcheting straps one in the middle and 2 on the back. that glass isn't going anywhere until they take it off the truck in arcadia lol

 

and one of the days I've dreaded has finally come.

feeling a little lazy so I duck into dennys for a burger. go to checkout and the young little cutie at the register asks how old I am. told her 49 in a couple weeks. she said that's close enough to 50 it's senior night so I got the 25% senior discount.

I mean I know I'm going gray and the beard is pretty salt and peppered now and i feel the years when i get up in the morning but ####........now it's official. the hot young chick gave me the senior discount. 25% isn't worth that lol

 

After 2 hours someone finally parked next to me, time to find a dumpster and get rid of the trash

25%, I might just have to try the Dennys here

I didn't even quit drinking until i was 48

 

I feel like a child here at 41. I think the only one younger than me is olhand.

 

I quit all that stuff at 28 but if you could do it I did it and that was a wild ride of excess and overindulgence from 14 to 28 lol I'd say proportionately and relatively my 49 is probably closer to 59 from my body's perspective
