When she was still in diapers and about three years old, I took her with me to clean out the truck I drove with my employer before Muñoz when they finally got it towed back to El Paso. I sat her in the sleeper while I packed stuff. I needed to clean out the side boxes and I told her to stay put. Gave her my phone to watch YouTube videos of Dora the Explorer and got out of the truck.

Start packing the car and got startled when she came walking around from the other side. I had left both doors open to get airflow (it was summer) and she managed to crawl out the passenger side and get down off the side step. My mom guessed that she probably fell butt first but the diaper padding kept her from getting hurt.

Decided I'd better just strap her into the car seat and run the ac. Did so and she went to sleep, lol.

 

It was in the 90s rolling through OR and WA up to the sound today. Thankfully down to 71 on the sound.
I'm another one of the broken a.c. crowd. 102 in Redding was no fun yesterday.

 

Don't tell that story at family functions next 20 years
I told a story like that about my oldest daughter Emma
now at 30 she is in therapy and remembers how that was her first recollection of abuse..............sigh

 

It ended up with me having a fight with her mom over it. Her mom telling me I need to be more careful and me reminding her it was her bright idea for me to bring Lily in the first place

 

That's right... PackRat is a smart as cheater... He used the hint I gave... "pony"...

That truck stop is quite "convenient".... pretty close to the highway and it has a huge dirt parking lot... Thought there would be bums and riffraff wandering around because there's a Greyhound desk in there and somehow I associate Greyhound places with riffraff... But place looked pretty quiet.... saw some truckers on lawn chairs chilling in the far back of the lot... I may go back there in the future...

 

Wildwood, Florida. 600 down, 285 to go in the morning

 

the second wife came down the pier one day and the 6 year old
was up in the top of the rigging on the boat 60 feet off the water
she didn't come down anymore when the boys were with me

 

Parked at Frito in Lynchburg Va. Have my load attached and ready to hit the road for Frankfurt IN for tomorrow. Trying what to decide to do from there as I will only have about 5 hours left on the clock after I drop this with nothing coming back. There is some short haul freight available so just waiting for some rates.

 

i preach trip planning constantly
and now i will do 2 restarts 2200 miles from home
in 6 days.....................sigh

Ok... let me see... my log book here... hmmm... Left Calif on Tuesday after pick up near Long Beach and faced that excruciating rush hr traffic jam on CA-91 that made truck very sick Hopefully never again will take that CA-91....
