we had an open truck a few months ago
recommended this guy
today he was suppose to load out to CA
never showed up
Boss went and looked truck cleaned out
dispatcher texted him
he replied at orientation new co
people wonder why i am cranky

 

I don't think I've ever been mistaken for skinny....besides our "home" truckstop is the Paulsboro TA....which used to be a 76 truck stop. Oh the stories.

 

I lurk that thread ( I lurk a lot of company threads to see how things are going at other companies that make me glad I don't work there). Sucks to hear when it's your recommendation that not only works out but abandons the truck.

 

Delivering at the americold took me back to when I was 19 picking up from there in the little box truck . Watching all the big boys back in. Now I'm a big boy, and I have grey hairs and the 53 foot trailer to prove it!! They took all day to get me unloaded and I'm finally about to be loaded in Pasadena. Hopefully before 5 so I don't have to deal with the crazy traffic.

 

at the house---they asked me to do so local work--after I refused to go anywhere--lol--so local dipsatch lady texted me earlier about a 4am start--what part of favor don't you understand? It's ok she already hates me--alomg w/the rest of the world--Im jus tryin to be first on her list...Besides--ol man just asked me if Id run a 5 stop NYC for him--told em sure--course he didnt tell her--cuz he don't like her either--says--my nephew hired HER--let him talk to her LMAO

 

@RedForeman my prepass fell off last week, lol.

Shop guys glued it back on with a roll of packing tape to secure it while the glue hardened.



Parked at the TA in Denmark, TN. Delivered my load to Siemens in Southaven, MS but had to wait for an empty. Was dispatched to pick up in Brownsville, TN for a load going to Wisconsin but when I got there, I got the news that it was cancelled. Being so close 5pm, dispatch told me to hit a truckstop and they'll find me a load for tomorrow. I was 10 miles from here so I came down here.

 

Truck just nosed in next to me. I think he needs a new tire.

This is why I love nighttime dispatch.

Sent empty call....along with message (I'm reloading in same location) "talked to shipping/receiving my trailer is in door and will be ready in the AM.

Dispatch: what is your trl #

me: don't know yet they haven't told me

Dispatch: you need an empty trailer.

me: I'm picking up in the same location!!

Dispatch: you need an empty to bring back for them to load in the morning.
