pretty sad when you roll into that insane asylum that is Atlanta at 1700 going in and 1830 coming out and the ones who show you the courtesy and respect are the 4 wheelers and not the 'professional' drivers. I don't think I've been surrounded by a bigger bunch of me me me wheelholders in a long time.

Decatur, tn at the shipper. told me bump the dock and settle in and they'll get me up in the morning. just as well i only had 1:20 left and was wondering where in the world I was going to park. get loaded up for ms tomorrow. I'm kinda liking staying south so far this year. looks like the company is adjusting and re-aligning some lanes. not missing being up north at all.

American TV and other media area notoriously "clean" compared to that produced elsewhere in the world. I hardly noticed any explicit sex and nudity on TV there LOL. What was funny to me were all the English/American TV shows dubbed in Spanish showing Portuguese subtitles. It made it hard to even lip-read to follow the dialogue. Especially because both translations were not very good. I watch just enough foreign films and TV to where I can understand dialogue reasonably well, even if I can't communicate in those languages beyond the bare minimums.

Sort of related.. what was remarkable from my visit were the motorcycles. There must be a zillion of them, nearly all less than 150cc. The car and truck traffic generally minded the signals and signs. The bikes were like bees, swarming in and around the rest. Aside from the obvious cost and fuel savings, I think bikes are also exempt from São Paulo's traffic congestion restriction laws. Seems they were doing some kind of alternating days thing based on the license plate number.

Only an hour and a half at 1700? That was fast. Amen on the big trucks being worse than the 4 wheelers. Although the ones on the radio crying about a "brother" not letting them merge are the ones that have been motoring up in a temp or ramp lane for miles, knowing it's gonna end, then getting put out when another big truck doesn't just make a hole for them. After I've been sitting in the grid lock watching them approach for that mile or so passing everything in sight, I'm just not in a hole making mood. I've been home since Friday, so it wasn't me LOL.
