south Beloit for fuel and 30 headed up to arcadia.

didn't get planned until 1500 yesterday and not off the yard till 1700. not the time of day I like to start. finally rolled into Seymour at 0345 last night and then another late start today. will roll into arcadia around midnight. already planned back to nc so hopefully get my clock evened out by the end of the week lol

gotta brag on my big dog a little. found another guy to come over and take care of the trees yesterday so the wife and kids could leave early today for the beach and I could be there to supervise the cutting. lowballed the bid and he jumped on it. if I'd known he'd have taken that I'd have gone another 100 lower......anyway......though the kids had put the block on the dog door while he went to get his saw and come back with his helper.

I'm laying on the bed with big boy and I don't know it but they're back and he jumps off the bed and down the hall he goes. I figure he'll bounce off the dog door like he usually does when he doesn't look to see it's closed lol but out the door and into the yard he flies. I hear him barking his head off and run out there and he has these two guys pinned between the building and the trees and they're frozen. he saw me come out and sat down in front of them and one of them moved and he's right back in attack mode lol the guy bounced off the building he jumped back so quick. I got over there and he sits down again and I knelt down and patted him on the head and told him what a good boy he was and had one of the kids bring me his chain so I could lead him back in.

the wife had told me how he reacts to people coming in the front yard when I'm not there but that's the first time I'd really seen it in action with someone there he didn't know and worse yet they were in the back yard. HIS kingdom lol. I was proud of him he did good. I know for sure now I don't have to worry about the wife while I'm gone. he's such a lovable gentle lumbering dummy when I'm there but he takes protecting the homestead seriously.

I cooked him 4 cheese wienies and threw them in the bowl when I made the food before I left. he loves those things. he earned them.

 

I had A&R do something just as stupid today. he's slow and in the right lane and I'm coming around him and we come around a curve and there's the repair on the shoulder. I had clear road and backed out quick and gave him plenty of room to get over and he just held his lane and acted like he didn't even know they were there.

but, i'll see your pass on the right raise it with the magnum driver flying blind last night.

he's merging onto 64 around Lexington last night 0130ish and we're converging about the same speed and he's not even bothering to let up so I move over and as he comes along beside me he has his driver's side curtain pulled all the way flush with the dash. driver's window completely obscured. they're slightly faster than us and he's coming back up so I let him go and curtain is all the way forward. I have to wonder if I hadn't moved over if he'd even known I was there. apparently not by the way he never let up coming over off the ramp.

for whatever reason he ended up slow and in the left lane and I got by him on the right and the ####ing right side curtain is pulled all the way shut as well. he couldn't see anything out of either side. guess the headlights in his mirrors were hurting his little eyes.

you just can't make this #### up. where the hell do they find these people?

Switched cell providers and ended up with a phone with a bum antenna. Had the slowest data ever. Finally got them to switch out the phone.

 

Yeah he does. Immediately. He makes sure everyone knows he's the big dog in the house when I'm not there. There is a clear pack hierarchy in the house and I reinforce it to make sure everyone knows their place.

He does have the hots for the little pit but I dont know so much if it's because she's at the bottom of the pack or because the other 2 know they aren't lol

He was fixed when I got him so he can't really do anything but he tries from time to time. I feel so bad for him lol
