Stopped for fuel and a bite at the J in Matthews MO. Trying to figure out why all the parking lots at the truckstops here are a solid sheet of ice while the auto sections are dry as can be. That ain't right

So the explanation I got was a trucker fell and sued 8 years ago. According to this waitress. The legal team says that by treating the lot you open expectations that you won't slip. By not treating than that expectation is not there so thus you can't sue.

I have no way of confirming this story but it's silly enough to believe it.

Yeah because it's unreasonable to expect there to be the potential to slip in sub freezing conditions regardless of attempts to clean the lot.

I bet if your looked you could find a thread on the forum from the driver that slipped... it would begin "the fuel island was full so I had to actually park and walk, how do I sue?"

FatDaddy, tsavory and TruckDuo Thank this.

Probably the same driver that slipped in a frozen pool of his own urine right in front of his steps.

Hey FatDaddy... I saw on tv news here about the storm in the USA... they showed images of a 50 kms "parking log"... vehicles parked on some highway in KY... they said that lasted about 15 hrs... :biggrin_25521: Is that real!!?? :biggrin_2554: They also showed a Delta plane that skid off the LaGuardia airport and crashed on the fence... :biggrin_2554: The images look pretty bad...
