Hopping on a train in the morning to Buffalo to get my truck. Well there is a slight possibility they won't have it done till Thursday morning. Either way I scheduled a pickup that has an all day window for pickup Thursday and delivery is only 230 miles and and all day window Friday to drop.
HeWhoMustNotBeNamed and Rocks Thank this. -
After a VERY threatening post on my profile page, here I am. Kinda feel outta place with all you hard workin folks on here. Not only am I just a local hero super trucker, now they have a guy to unload our loads. I just weigh in give'm my paper work and wait for the thumbs up to pull out. ALLMOST feel guilty for bein so lazy !!!

At the Love's in Tulare, CA. Ran AZ72 to CA62 to US95 to I40 to CA58 to CA99 to bypass the busted bridge. Looks like a lot of trucks were cutting that way but staying on CA62 over to Palm Springs.
Was planning on going up AZ95 to Parker, AZ but was told getting off at exit 45 on I10 and running Vicksburg Road up to AZ72 would save a few miles, so I did.
Forgot how rolly poley US95 in California is. -
Thank you Mr. ReeferOhio...
Old school...? I don't know...I have been driving for less than 8 yrs... Consider myself a "baby" in my company where most of the drivers have 25 and 35 + years experience...
I think the performance of the truck has a lot to do with the truck itself, some problems that come from factory and mechanics can't find may cause some extra fuel consumption...Also because of the average weight of the load they pull, or because of the season... in the winter they consume more fuel than in the summer... or because of the terrain... or the wind... or the way the engine was "broken" .... etc, etc, etc.... Yes, the way the driver drives it has something to do with fuel consumption but that is not all...
BTW, met a candidate driver today in my company.... He said he had over 30 yrs experience... was in the military, pulled all kinds of trucks and loads, tanker, flatbed, oversize, specialized, etc, etc... A real asset for my company... as I saw it... But company couldn't take him because DOT doctor refused to give him the physical aptitude test because he told them about some cortisone shots he takes for some shoulder injury he had while in the military... Company was sad, but had to send him back home...ReeferOhio and TruckDuo Thank this. -
And thank you for posting that about your company bumping the speed of your truck up if you keep the idling below a certain amount... I told them about that and they thought it is a great idea and willing to use it...
