65 and 24 in Kentucky were shut down almost 18hrs. Governor called out 50 from the national gaurd to rescue stranded people and try and pull out some of the wrecks. they had just opened 65 as I was sitting down to eat last night watching the weather channel
woke up this morning to -3 with a windchill of -13. just not fun times for a southern boy lol. even with an alcohol diluted windex mixture and the mirror heat on, when I sprayed the mirrors it froze solid on contact. so much for a clean window this morning it took long enough to get the mirrors squared away.
Made it down to the J in south Beloit. Still 820 to go puts me home around 2am Sunday with less than an hour on the 70 and 3588 on 6.5 days out. That's a solid week no doubt.
Time for shower, dinner and bed.Last edited: Mar 6, 2015

TA in Prescott. Since I should be out of the snow for at least a week figure it's safe to give the truck a bath. Sure did need one. Saw a few big trucks still in ditches on 40 coming from West Memphis and one laying on it's side. Another one flipped over in Little Rock where 440 and 30 come together but I didn't hang with the crowd that was sitting for 6 miles...I ran around it.

Mr. FM, those pictures, the road... it looks ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!
But your windshield is unbelievably clean...
. how do you get them this way? Did you say you prepare some "special" solution with alcohol and windex? One of my biggest and most aggravating problems in the winter is the freaking windshield...
Freightliners have a pretty bad windshield design and the driver side panel always get covered with ice very quickly...
Mr. FatDaddy, glad for you man.... that you found your way around that nasty congestion...
This has been an absolute terrible winter... don't remember anything as bad as this one... You all are real road warriors to be out there facing this crap day after day...God bless you all...
FatDaddy, flyingmusician and tsavory Thank this. -
Last time we were there, he started getting sick again and I thought would end up at Freightliner again but he got better in time for us to leave the state... I miss him...
