It never does unless I go down on a Friday , now that's another story in itself.

After I got off 295 when we parted ways , I only had about a hour to go . So it's not to bad .

Off like a herd of turtles this week. Picked up some recently deceased birds and took them to middle TN. Then was on the way to KY for a return trip and discovered a recent reefer repair didn't. Turns out my regular guy attempted a patch to save about a thousand bucks and it didn't work out. So now hanging out at the Nashvegas Thermo King waiting for them to fix it.

I can't complain too much. I couldn't have picked a better time or place to have spotted the fault light. NB on Briley Pkwy right at the exit for Opry Mills. Easy turn around to get to TK without the half hour construction mess downtown. And it's not midnight, or Sunday, or snowing. Bonus, no product on board too.

Now to decide where to lodge for the night around here. Toss up between buying a spot at the downtown TA, or motoring about 10 miles east to a little place I know that has good burgers and clean bathrooms, but no showers.

any dummy can rip a bumper off blindside in the dark........but it takes a VERY high level of skill to do it sight side in the middle of the day

    elmira heights.JPG

this was at the glass place where I loaded today in Elmira heights. guy was blowing his horn at him and he just kept on coming. snagged the bumper and snatched it right off.

typical place in the NE that wasn't designed for a 53 and they continually try to load 15 or more trucks in a space that can really only accommodate 8. I had enough sense to park in the street with my 4 ways on until I could get into the lot.

4hrs to load then down to Fogelsville for the drop. took forever with 44,990 in the hills on 86/81 then 22 in traffic. ended up at the drop with 1:40 on the clock and ticking and the cube farm can't get it together. call back in 30 minutes. finally with 1:05 left they think I'm going into Allentown at 1700 and grab a load and get back to leesport. need to get it there by midnight. I just laughed. uh......no lol not in this lifetime. when can you be there? 0500. by the time I get checked out the drop time miraculously changes to 0500. funny how that happens so quickly and easily when it suits them lol

grabbed it and made it to the Bandit just outside Allentown with 8 minutes left. not a good spot it's probably going to be a tough one to get out of in the morning but it is what it is. all I could get.

I think the belt line is shut down in Madison so traffic might be heavy earlier than normal

I opted for the short drive. Didn't even have to pay for a spot. Sundown seems to be the magic hour here. The lot went from 1/2 empty to triple parked in about 15 minutes. Good TV reception too.
