when our little company goes to elogs I wont be here for the learning curve
so I will go to one of the companies already knows how to dispatch on elogs
and has satellite tv
which seems to be the newest benny to get people OTR

 

Looking for trip plan check here. Going to STRANGE lands Have not been on 10 in the southern states in years.

Running Salinas, CA to Fellsmere FL.

Day 1, Salinas, to Brawley/Calexico CA area
Day 2 east side of El Paso
Day 3 Passed San Antonio but not to Houston. (Shulenburg?)
Day 4 Some where near Pensacola.
Day 5 Fellsmere

Any suggested Hiddy holes for East TX and FLA? Places to AVOID.
Any Gotchas / General Bull Pucky I should know about I need to know about?

 

Cartersville Gawga! Bout 30 minutes to go in the manana! This place is freaking hilarious!

 

I can help(maybe) with a spot not too far from P-cola. Exit 53( if I'm remembering keerectly) in Bama. The Oasis Travel Plaza. Big parking lot, good diner. Every time I left Salinas was going down and catching 40 across. Hope that helps.

 

Cartersville is calm and serene compared to the Loves down the road a lil ways

i would go to the 40 to amarillo before i started heading south

 

Thank you for sharing your experience and opinion... You have yours and I have mine... For me, it is NOT about the $$$... if it were, I would not be doing this... But even if I didn't need the money, I think I would still be out here doing what I am doing...
I don't expect anybody to understand me or even agree with me... I guess most don't... and that doesn't matter anyway... They live their lives and I live mine.
I agree with you about the BS that took away most of the fun in this job... I was referring to that in my previous post...

 

14 hours ran out at Newberry Springs, CA. Parked it at that Indian owned joint at Exit 23.

Heard they made good Indian food but not brave enough to try.

Half the fuel island has trucks parked in it with curtains drawn. Guess that's the VIP section, lol.

If you cruise by on 40, you can see my truck, I'm parked along the fence.

 

Not supposed to be opened to traffic until Friday according to CALTRANS.

 

I stopped at the Love's in Tulare to grab a shower and a Gordon driver was cleaning up after another driver, I'm guessing making a uturn, caught his hood with his tail swing and proceeded to destroy the left part of his hood.
