when i had an auto at my previous company I had to move the 5th wheel once.....on a load of plate glass no less.

that thing was a nightmare to try and do anything like that with. released the 5th wheel and it didn't budge. just had to keep feathering the fuel to it and then finally all of the sudden it loosened up right as the trans caught and started to move the truck and all the way back in a hurry and BAM lol too far. tried to feather it the other way and same thing. then all of the sudden all the way forward and BAM lol too far.

it took 7 or 8 tries to get it right because you just couldn't make any precision maneuvers with that #### auto. just took too many rpm's before the trans would catch and move the truck. backing was a nightmare with it too but I finally figured out how to back it slow.

luckily it didn't break any of the glass in the trailer lol

So wouldn't it be easier to put food in a bag or 2, 3... Then taking the food out of bag once in the room to put in a fridge? When I seen that picture of that cooler in the hotel room the other day. I was like, but what about her back issues? Come on super girl you can make things easier . Instead of harder like Mr FM. I'm not going anywhere till 11 pacific time so you are free to call and explain, because I don't get it. But I don't get a lot of things. You know understanding women is not one of my languages:)

I used to do A LOT more drop and hooks when I was in the Walmart dedicated with my former company than now... Every delivery at WM DCs was a drop and hook... And also at Walmart supercenters... Some times would have 4 and 5 trailers in one day only... :biggrin_2552: I hated that...

I have tried putting stuff/food in bags... But considering all the stuff that already carry with me, I prefer to have all that food "compiled" in the cooler... less trips back and forth...
    Look closer at that picture...

Do you see the 2 cords around the cooler? That is a little cart (how do you call that?) that I bought just to transport the cooler... and anything else that's too heavy for my poor back... :biggrin_25519:

We call it a dolly lol I used to have one of those to move my huge amp/speaker cabinets from the trailer to the stage when I would be playing live somewhere. Sure makes things easier.

Used those when I had my own business selling art-craft in Brasil in various locations... and traveling constantly with big and heavy bags filled with merchandise....

There is truth to that. Food with strong taste or texture is even better. My not secret weapon is peppered beef jerky. The kind that you don't realize how hot it is at first, then realize you're breaking out in a sweat. When the peanuts or granola aren't working, a bite of dried beef soaked in pepper juice and crusty with black pepper will make your eyelids bang open. I don't do energy drinks. 4 hr energy is more like 30 minute energy for me, then the crash and I'm worse off than I was in the first place. Works better to moderate. I'll brew a small pot of coffee that fills my 24 oz mug and nurse that for at least 2-3 hours.

Other that that, yeah don't get in a sleep deficit before you start. This morning worked out great. I ended up staying up later than I wanted too, but got 5 hours solid shut eye before my alarm went off at midnight. Even woke up 30 min early in a panic, thinking I'd slept thru the alarm. I had just enough steam to make it to my recliner for a nap.

And just think, you could drop the trailer and move the 5th wheel plate one time by hand with a pry bar, then re-hitch. Or so I've heard LOL. Fortunately, my steer axle is 11,900 when empty with low fuel. So there is only one good 5th wheel adjustment - all the way back. This was a setting by guesswork on the way out Thursday with 1/4 tank on fuel. Lavonia and the new SC scale house were both closed so it didn't matter anyway. Slid the trailer tandems up 5 pins, then replaced that weight with 200 gals of diesel.

My 5th wheel is almost dead center between the drive axles.
