surprisingly enough made it to leesport. pulled another one out of the hat today. one day they're going to stack those tight loads that look good on paper on me and I'm not going to make it and I'm not going to apologize for it either when it happens.

after the 30 mile live unload this morning to winston that I sat an hour and a half for I had 596 to taylorsville and then leesport. took a nice time killing 35 mile stroll up nc16 through the woods and the hills from conover to Taylorsville then up to 421 to Wilkesboro to get back to 77 and was looking at +8 over the 14 when I left there. steady and smooth and chipped away at that all the way to the Pa line and I finally had it dead even. by the time I got to leesport I was 7 minutes to the good. just enough time to drop get parked and get off the clock right as it went to zero.

get the usual message when I call in empty to call back after 9am. guess ill get to sleep in in the morning. they owe me a ride back out of here and south for pulling their ### out of a bind today but we know how that's gonna go now that I'm up here lol

amazingly not one single accident or stupid backup on 81 from Wytheville all the way up to the 78 split. can't remember the last time that ever happened.

Came into the restaurant for dinner. The conversation is lively at the lunch counter....which is why I sat as far away as possible.

Man it's almost football season. Which I love...but listening to every "expert" in the lounge gets old quick. I may actually break down an hook a TV up in the new truck.

I came up on one of these blowhards at the loves at the 291 in Va once......rusted beat up pos flat top fld and trailer that looked like it should have been retired when I was a kid but had a really nice looking german shepherd hanging out the window. was thinking to myself that was just too much dog for that little truck and the guy came around fueling. he looked more beat up than his truck did. made the mistake......complimented him on the dog. that got him going a mile a minute on how he used to run currency shipments for the fed and the dog was part of his security package. they liked contracting to him because nobody would ever think to look at his beat up old truck hauling money and he was so good at what he did he never needed an escort......and on and on and on. didn't think I was ever going to get a word in edgewise to get away from him lol

truly a legend in his own mind
