This thing moves right along. Had a 4 hour drive earlier and had several pages to catch up on.

 

lol he was serious too that was what was so funny about it. I had to rub it in a little and tell him Epes gave me a really nice one when I completed the trainers course and maybe he should have chosen a different company. Mine is in a drawer somewhere it never has seen a frame lol

Another wonderful day in the northeast. Jersey city was......well......jersey city. Took 7 hrs this morning to do 256 miles. Then I got the same 188 mile 5hr trip I got last time I was up here. Took right at 5hrs to do again.

Back in Leesport for the night call back after 9am for whatever bs we feel like sticking you on tomorrow.

 

Ya need to have a couple of people call in to check your references. Will either cure that crap or brake it so you throw out some serious "requests for dispatching services" AKA applications.

 

the thought did cross my mind lol and may still happen just that way.

had a few very tense discussions with the cube farm today over the fact I'm stuck back up here this week. once every 5-6 weeks isn't so bad and there are plenty of drivers based out of NC that should be the rotation. made no bones about the fact that this was in part why I left where I was before was being hung out in that northeast corridor every week. to be back up here so soon is unacceptable. if I wanted to run up here in this #### I'd live up here.

they should get to the root of the problem and solve why they can't keep drivers here but I'm afraid as long as they have a 100+ pool of drivers in NC to pull from that won't happen.

I did get a somewhat straight answer out of one of them today that I hadn't heard before and that makes sense and she said their biggest hurdle up here is that it's union country and nobody up here wants to work for less than a union wage and they aren't going to pay it.

that said.....these trips do pay well once you add the supplementals in but you have to be able to turn 2 or 3 of them a day to make it pay good over a week. burning 13:53 for 400+/- and 2 trips isn't going to do it.

I know one thing......if I had to live up here I'd absolutely kill someone inside of a year lol

that jersey city trip today.....what a nightmare.

listened to the radio all the way down 95 this morning. cross Bronx and gw unusually light no delay. all the way down through Ct same story. I usually go around. figured this morning I'd go straight in since I had consistent good traffic reports all the way through the Bridgeport to Stamford cluster*uck and it was the quickest way to jersey city. soon as I was committed to the cross Bronx and couldn't easily get back to 287 traffic says 'building delays jersey bound cross Bronx and gw due to a new construction area. ####. lol shoulda figured. finally fight my way through that and have to take 14A bayonne to get to port jersey blvd. a can hauler wadded a car into a ball against the right wall of the bridge on the far end right at the 14A. of course I'm in the right lane. 1.5hrs to get across the bridge. if you've ever taken the 14A you know the asinine configuration of the toll booth 5 lanes into 2 to a red light in 200ft to 1 lane after the light. that's bad enough without miles of traffic stacked up due to the wreck trying to get through.

get to the customer. been here before know where I'm going. don't see any of our trailers there. or any for that matter. not good. walk in and she says 'they aren't here anymore they moved' would have been nice if they've told someone. jersey city isn't the place to be trying to find a customer flying blind..... so I call. girl give me a few turns and then I ask if it's on the right or left of the street. in that annoying joisey accent she says 'I dunno' lol of course the first thing out of my mouth was 'what the #### do you mean you don't know what side of the street the #### building you work in is on?'......being the good joisey girl she is, she hung up on me. 5 calls later down the phone tree I finally get someone who gives me direction and I get there.

coming out back through the cash box, I had a trash hauler try to shoot the gap between me and the barrier was even though I had a half truck length on him coming out of the gate. guess he thought I was just going to give it to him.

 

are you blind ? .... "put my finger on ... it " ???? ..... just wave your hand in any direction at all and you can't miss it ! ..... He's got sooooo many things to dislike about him it's amazing, Dude !!! ...

 

I feel that way about all the eastern states, You know all the ones east of the Rockies. The time frame just gets shorter the further east I would be.
