Some days this job just doesn't pay enough lol
After running back to advance empty and thru Charlotte soon as I pull in the gate get a load assignment.......to Charlotte lol turn around and go right back from whence I'd come.
2 stop pickup in Charlotte off old concord rd at the start of rush hour. Gps and company box agree on directions. Looks like good road on google map. Get to the turn to the final and it's gone lol road no longer exists due to construction and road widening.
Figure out how to get back to 85 and figure the back way in on the fly. Turn onto old concord from the other direction and 2 miles in 2 miles from customer 'road closed to thru traffic. Detour'. Okay no problem I'm not thru traffic. Get to the detour and I'm greeted with 'no trucks 3 axles or more' lol oh can't forget the low clearance hump rr crossing at the turn off the main road either for good measure.
That banging sound you hear is my head beating the dash. Just enough room to pull over and stop and ask the construction crew the way in or around. Nice guys told me they'd been running 80k quads through there for weeks don't worry about it.
Tight road but passable and made it. At least the 2nd stop is the next building over across the street. Then gotta get back out of here in full on Charlotte rush.
Running this one to Tupelo if I can ever get out of here. -
I do love some honey dews. Thanks for the help. For some reason I was thinking 10 dollars and I could take the hit. Then when I seen 20 I remembered we have a yard here somewhere. So I called up the fleet manager. She gave me the directions. Stopped at the Petro to get me some fixins. Bill came out to 14 bucks and I thought might as well stay here. But getting in and out that place is such a cluster fudge. I was like I'm gona save that 6 bucks for a taco truck
.
Now I'm a a dusty lot with a bunch of MVT,pride, Arthur and a bunch of containers. Might have to wake up a lil early. This place has cluster fudge potential.
I'll give the Yankee a head start. Will be on his back door up to Salt lake. Drop next load in Farr west, Utah. Maybe I can get a Bronx load out of Hyrum. I don't know about that pizza but the Chinese food that I get from there can't be beat.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this. -
