Flying J in Kirkersville OH. Could drive farther but I'm not feeling it. Get to it early in the morning and finish this trip to Winchester then reload and head to Findlay OH before steering the ship toward. Houston and some time off.

Sitting in our terminal in Coon Rapids MN... Pick up at 7am in Eagan MN then head to NJ.... Starting to snow... They say 3-5 inches....let's hope not... I'm shutting my curtains and pretending it's 85 degrees out....
tsavory, runningman0661 and FatDaddy Thank this. -
make it it go away please lol
I'm heading out from the house in the morning for just across the line in Wisconsin. Forecast don't look good though into tue morning when I get there. I was just in that mess in jersey Friday. Just can't get away from it last couple weeks. Guess that's what I get for missing most of it early on in the season. I'm so over winter ready for summer heat and humidity.FatDaddy, Rocks, tsavory and 1 other person Thank this. -

Was getting way too bored and stressed here in the hotel...
So, decided to take a bus to my home town, RIO DE JANEIRO this weekend... And meet my only Brazilian friend...
Took a bus at 11:22 am
Sat at the window to take some pictures...
On the road to the city of Rio... it rained all the way...
Slums are everywhere...
Approaching toll booths to Rio-Niteroi bridge...
A lot of traffic jam on the other side...
Due to the pollution and fog, one couldn't see well Sugar Loaf mountain... maybe just a little bit on the background...
Part of downtown Rio also "hiding" in the fog and pollution...
As one approaches the city of Rio on the Rio-Niteroi bridge, one can see the harbor/port to the left...
And then, one of the inter-state bus terminal down there...
A lot has changed in the city... for one like me, who hasn't been there in over a decade...
And after getting off the bus from Cabo Frio, took another bus at another terminal to my friend's place in Barra da Tijuca...
It took me a while to recognize some places...Last edited: Mar 23, 2015

I traveled to some of my past this weekend...
Bus passed by Saens Penna square... I used to work at that public open fair... In the 80's... Started there with a little table selling my art craft... was soooo successful that I grew to a huge booth with 2 attendants to help me selling... That place used to be TOTALLY DIFFERENT... almost unrecognizable now...
Traffic is very intense at Saens Penna square and lots of people always... and businesses... I worked there for almost 8 yrs...
Not much traffic on a weekend...
And buses in Rio run fast like crazy... and don't respect red lights... whenever they can...
Took a road going up... one of the ways to go to Christ the Redeemer... Very nice road... but dangerous too, narrow and full of curves... folks pass each other on the left lane all the time whether there are two solid yellow lanes or not...
That's a view of Pedra da Gavea (Gavea Stone)... folks jump from there with hand-gliders and land on Barra da Tijuca beach...
Traffic jam... and lots of motorcycles "squeezing" between traffic... very common...
Arrived at Barra da Tijuca and took a ferry boat to a little island where my friend lives now...
Very interesting... Never been there...
There are several little islands in that lagoon... and the only way to get there is by those ferry boats.
There are all kinds of houses, nice and expensive, small and poor... condos and slums too... it's a mix of everything...
And also many restaurants... and some businesses... kinda "clandestine", not registered... Well.. that's common in Brasil...
