I hardly ever stay the night in a truckstop. I fuel, shower and get the hell out of there! I'll park anywhere I can to avoid these places.

    They stink!
They're noisy with all the trucks idling
They're full of idiots that want to tear the hood off my truck
They're full of morons that toss they're pee bottles out on the lot
The same morons toss they're trash out the window onto the lot
    They're over priced
    The service is terrible
The list goes on and on...

Right now I'm parked in a nice quiet spot and my truck is shut off and I'll get a peaceful nights sleep without some A-hole backing into me or a lot lizard pounding on my door ten times or a reefer running next to me...

    I'm just sayin'

I agree 100%! We use a truck stop only to fuel and shower, other than that, can't wait to get out of there.

Ditto brother. A line to get fuel, line to pay, line to park, line to shower, line to get out.

Its been my experince that happens more frequently at T/S's in/near big cities, but the ones (especially the few remaining Mom and Pop T/S's) that are 100+ miles from big cities are far better. Granted with the econminic situation there is going to be more theft and prosituition.

Well I agree with you black w900. However I have a problem with the one statement you made about the reefers. Why is it that all these drivers these days ##### all the time about reefers? I understand they are noisy sometimes but come on. How would you suggest that food be transported instead? Everytime I hear a driver ######## about a reefer this a reefer that blah blah blah I ask them that question and amazingly have yet to get an answer to it. I guess all the people that ##### about the reefers must all eat dry food, no frozen or refrigerated stuff huh. Now there's an idea we could all start eating rations and completely do away with reefers. :biggrin_25517:

I understand the need for them and I have even pulled them before and will probably pull them again. I just don't want to listen to them if I don't have to.

I agree with the OP except on the reefer thing. We can defend reefers with the same argument we use for trucks. People complain about the trucks, but love the stuff they bring. Truckers complain about reefers, but love the stuff they bring.

I prefer haveing a reefer parked next to me. The noise helps me sleep. But I grew up in a fairly noisey environment.

How about a truck stop that segregates reefers from dry vans, you know, reefers, front row, dry vans, back row.

HFC, outerspacehillbilly and 73 FJ40 Thank this.
