Anybody can get cdl but if you want to work for someone else most require you be at least 5 years out of jail/prison and not be on probation.
Felonies dont hold you back they just slow you down in trucking.
I have a drug trafficking charge, can I be a trucker?

And ignore all the judgmental people.... Molly is just one of the drugs they over sentence for, if I remember correctly it wasn't even illegal till the late 80's.

CR England hired a friend of mine. He did 20 years for murder & was hired 4 months out of prison. Just 2 show you it is possible. But like everyone else said, you're on paper for 5 years & can't leave the state. Trucking isn't an option for you unless ur running around town. Even then, I highly doubt anyone would run the risk with hiring you. Nothing personal, just the facts.

Get the cdl through the cheapest school you can; preferably 160 hr. course, but 120 hr. course is probably ok also.
Carolina Cargo will probably hire you as long as your probation/parole officer lets you cross state lines.
I think there's a 99.99% chance Carolina Cargo will hire you.
PI&I Motor Express might also hire you.
Don't go by what's on their websites, because both these companies bend their own rules as to what's on the websites. These companies hire ex-cons right out of prison as long as they graduate from a cdl school.ExOTR and No names left Thank this. -
I just never got caught.

@cognitivedissident
Have you asked you parole officer what possibilities you have?
There's a lot off stuff being talked about here but most is guessing as you don't know what the person in control for the next 5y will allow. -
It may be too soon but you can go see the clerk of courts where you were convicted. The clerk of courts is the judges right hand man. Very powerful. Ask if you can get a date to go in front of the judge and ask that your records be sealed. Get a hair cut, put on a suit and tie and tell the judge you can't get a job with your record. He may seal your record. That means it won't show up on any background search. Only to law enforcement. I know two people personally who did this.
