She has a cdl but no experience with it, been a few years since she drove last. She likes swift, roehl and kllm. I told her i dont know much about them so i would ask on here, she would like to be out no more then 2 or 3 weeks at a time, she is in philly and the money part isn't the biggest thing to her. She just has to get her feet wet. All 3 kind of told her the same thing on how she is going to be rich and home every week. What do you guys think of the 3?
I have a friend that needs to pick one.

Roehl is probably the best choice of those three.
She should look at Freymiller and Transport America also. They both hire drivers with a long gap in driving and even much longer gap than their websites show.Last edited: Jun 21, 2016
tim71 Thanks this. -
I am partial to Trans Am. Roehl seems a bit strict but that just what I picked up on when I talked with them. I hear Millis is not bad, but again, its what I heard.

Trans Am? I believe you should never be allowed to recommend a company again.

Millis is better than those and if they hire out of there that would be my pick. They have the better home time etc.

Immaterial who she likes; None of the training companies will take her without recent experience or recent schooling. A refresher course isn't going to do it either. After a two years or even a year most training companies consider her CDL irrelevant and won't hire.
Other companies, small OTR companies, LTL, construction, agriculture, drayage, might. -
Trans Am. Okay. I am rarely negative about any company. They all serve a purpose. They all are in business to make money. They all pay their employees the very minimum amount of money they can. They all treat there employees like family, albeit a very dysfunctional family.
Trans Am may have changed but in 2005 they were doing Lease Purchases early on. My School was located about 10 miles from Trans Am. We toured the facilities. We met with their staff and were recruited.
When it came to signing the lease the pressure went up. At the time they did not allow the lease to be taken off site to be reviewed by attorneys. Now that was enough for me to never recommend Trans Am. Never.
But like I said they do serve a purpose. They undercut companies the pay good wages.
I do personally know of drivers who have been charged for damage do to their truck by frozen fuel filters. Now yes a more experienced driver will not let damage like that happen. However, because Trans Am hires drivers with such little experience, I believe that to be bovine excrement.
I do not believe Trans Am values their drivers as much as they value their recruiters or the girl who brings the coffee.
Now the idea that I talk to drivers in a restroom leads me to believe I have touched a never. So let me tell you, I don't discuss Trans Am in restrooms. What I do is sign autographs as it is easier then to explain to those who seem to check out others that I am not John Holmes.MidWest_MacDaddy and alghazi Thank this.
