i always had such a problem at the UPS warehouse in Chelmsford, MA.

we would take a trailer to them, drop it off and when we picked it up..??

trash all over the place. my boss told me to get rid of it, but where i would ask.

so i dumped it out onto the UPS property.

as far as i was concerned, it was their trash not ours, once they accepted the trailer, they accepted the trash as well.

we never got a phone call from UPS either.

I ALWAYS arrive to shipper with a spotless trailer. When the shipper gives me the greenlight, I ALWAYS pull a few feet off the dock to check my trailer. If the receiver left MY equipment trashed, I get my pushbroom, and give it back. I supply MY equipment to deliver their product, not be their trashman. Too many times I've left the property and not been able to find a public trash can, I just don't allow myself to be inconvenienced any more, its not my problem.

Well I am sure glad there are more out there that have the same sentiment as my husband when it comes to cleaning out a trailer. It belongs to the receiver and they are not doing their job if they are leaving the trailer nasty.

the job i have now since November of 2011, we guys (three of us) stay hooked up to our trailers and never drop them unless the trucks need to be serviced.

at my last stop for the night, (i only have 3 stops), i take time to sweep out that trailer. this i do nearly every night, or at least 3 times a week. the other guys...??

one sweeps out once per week..

    the other one...??

well let's see, he NEVER washes his truck, he NEVER cleans the inside of his truck

    his trailer....??

you really do not wanna know....

That is bad that you have one who does not contribute to the workload. Maybe you and the other guy should leave all the work for him for a couple of weeks and see what happens. And some people like to live like slobs when it comes to their truck inside. Maybe some rules of engagement need to be made, ha ha.

With reefers though that husband pulls you have some drop & hook, the rest are live loads. While most trailers are swept out, if the shipper calls for a washout of trailer then whoever picks it up gets to have it washed out, or if it is unloaded and dirty like after a potato load you will have to go and have it washed out, I don't believe I have ever heard him say that he has picked up a trailer that was in that bad of a condition. He recently bought a snow blower though to help with the cleaning, not something I guess you all would want to invest in with the way you drive.
