    that's what i'm talking about.

they call them roman nose bridges. no nose peices. very hard to find. but one store recommended me to a place in a mall downtown. i now have a new frame. now i just need time and money to exam and lenses.

they're like old style granny glasses. thin, light, and fit very comfortably without the nose clamps.

my new pair. looks like what the chipmunks wear.only thinner. they were the cheapest they had. $300.

why more and more people don't want em is beyond me. course, i never knew they existed till i found a pair when i was shopping a few years back. first time i ever saw something like that. and no way i was passing them up. i won't go back to nose clamps.

for starters I wear bifocals, those cost more

also I wear half-rimless glasses, not because i'm spoiled but because they look the best on me. i'm already not very good looking and I don't want BCG's to make it worse.

from about 13 till I was about 20 I would always wear a hat, fortunatley my hat and my glasses bled together so it worked itself out

but my point was my parents couldn't afford to buy $150 pairs of glasses every 2 years, heck I can't either

The last glasses I bought was in 2008, they (2 pair), with exam cost almost $500. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I wear bifocals, and as stated previously, I paid $99 for two pairs a couple months ago. Granted it was a store special, but it existed. Find one near you.

You're seriously putting your vanity ahead of the safety of the yourself, your truck and the general public? Who are you trying to impress while driving? The DOT? I promise you they don't care if your glasses make your cheeks look fat. They only care that you can see. Maybe you should reconsider your career choice.

i've had glasses since 3rd grade, contacts are a amazing and i wish i had them at the moment. (sunglasses. that is all.)

i'm of the opinion that if you're supposed to have glasses/contacts then get them and wear them. i've not managed to actually destroy or lose a pair of glasses since about middle school. if you can keep track of a cell phone and not destroy it then why would you have trouble with glasses?

i will echo the safety minded people as well. you're driving an up to 80,000 pound vehicle. missing even a seemingly minor thing due to vision can lead to injury or death. yours or someone elses.

try hauling flatbed of construction equipment. or even other things.

my frames are always getting hit and bent out of shape.

i did the cheap thing once. americas best contacts and eyeglasses always does 2 pairs with exams for $99.

you get what you pay for. and that's what i got. crappy precription lenses.

but there's also the dillemma of paying for some nice scratch resistant lenses and what not. the store i go to talked me into a more epxensive type of lense. was supposed to be thinner. but i had oval vision. could only see in the middle. the outter edges were blurry. so now i just go with the cheap lense. see just fine and don't see any difference in thinness.

excuse me? I didn't say that. I can see out of my glasses that's the most important thing any doctor will say that I can see out of my glasses and that's the only thing that matters

I have the RIGHT to get whatever glasses I WANT, I choose to have the glasses I have and those are the ones I choose

No. You don't have any such right. You have a responsibility when taking a job where safety is a high priority to make sure you can see. If that means you buy ugly glasses because that's all you can afford, then that's what you do.
