So after 20 years at the same trucking company(last 13 in management) I’m ready to move out of the crooked state I live in. I bought a truck in 2019 for my son to run locally doing road construction work and it’s paid off but that industry in this state is getting taxed very hard even worse then before. I’m curious if I can buy another truck and sign on to a company. We’ve only ran that truck locally but have our own authority. I’ve run a lot of loads on weekends and paid days off over the last 6 years throughout the western 11 states primarily with food grade tankers. Does anyone on here know of a company that would let me run loads for them if I bought a truck. I have experience in just about everything except reefer.
Thanks
I have a trucking problem.

Many, if not most, trucking companies have o/o programs. Some of those programs even pay decent. USA Truck, Schneider, Mercer, Landstar, JB Hunt, and RoadRunner are a few big ones that come to mind, but there's tons of smaller ones too. You probably want percentage pay with self-dispatch.

Don Hummer Trucking uses some owner-operators and there's no rent using their trailers.
Most companies charge the 0/0 several hundred dollars a week to use their trailers, but Don Hummer Trucking doesn't charge anything.Mooseontheloose, black_dog106, Outlawless and 1 other person Thank this. -
Greatwide uses owner-operators.

we're assuming you live somewhere in those 11 states, since you didn't mention any location.

You never mentioned where you are now,
Or where your moving too.
The latter would help a whole lot more.Numb and slow.rider Thank this. -

If the corrupt state is California, many companies will not lease on O/Os at the moment as that AB5 law winds it way through the courts. If that's where he lives he may be better off better to move out now.
