Typical post... when the realization hits that all those "stories" about keeping a clean driving record is important are true. Less so it the meat grinder industry today.. but the wealthy have convinced (paid off) the lawmakers to loosen the rules to fill the trucks with bodies.. So this driver too will soon find some 1099 job or some low rung outfit who knows exactly how desperate these people are to be a "king of the road".. the cycle continues.
I have careless driving, speeding 20 over and failure to yield and can’t find a truck driving job.

Try Western Express if your looking for OTR.
If they say no, consider a different career.Blue Zombie Trucker, lovesthedrive and otterinthewater Thank this. -
Any CDL violation [SPEEDING 15+OVER, RECKESS, leaving the scene, etc] are considered to be MAJOR violations by a lot of companies. Often one Major is enough for the insurance to say NO and if they consider the Careless the same as Reckless; you have two Major violations.
I don't know if any state besides New Jersey that has a careless AND reckless so many insurance companies treat careless the same as reckless.
At least ONE of them has to get over 3 years old [better both of them] to be hireable anywhere.
Was the careless in NJ? applying to NJ carriers might work if the 20MPH over is getting old. -
What's the answer to not being able to work for someone else? Work for yourself!! Step 1: get your own authority. Step 2: lease a fine vehicle from BYOB&CBD leasing. Step 3: Continue your superstar driving career!!
As the owner of BYOB&CBD I can tell you as long as you keep my truck out of the ditch and can make your payments you re good to go. So how about it? Can you see yourself behind the wheel of a large car? New mattresses, choice of reclining girl chrome mudflaps, or Yosemite Sam BACK OFF mudflaps and pointy lugnut covers included. Also check out my New Lease Starter Kit, with everything you need to get started back to work. So here is your chance to Be Your Own Boss!!! Also enjoy some fine CBD products.brianv31, D.Tibbitt, Blue Zombie Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
As soon as they find out that he's such a great driver, they will just throw him the keys to the truck, and bow with reverent respect as he walks out the door.Gearjammin' Penguin, D.Tibbitt, Blue Zombie Trucker and 2 others Thank this.

Great post but you left one VERY important item out. If you get a charge while holding a CDL that is in table 1 of part 383.51 that CDL is suspended for 1 year. A 2nd charge is 3 years. In this OPs case, their charges are in table 2. I don't know about that careless driving and how that failure to held is handled, but this might be 3 convictions of things listed in table 2. That is a 120-day suspension of the CDL. FROM THE TIME OF THE LAST CONVICTION! NOT THE DATE OF THE OFFENSE!
One thing I always try to stress to all people I speak to that want to be drivers. Learn part 383.51 and remember the FMCSA and the states are not kidding about this. I don't know if this OP is trolling or not and for the purposes of the discussion it's really not important. What is important though is the opportunity to again stress be mindful of 383.51!
I have not even got into insurance consideration yet, to be continued ------- -
