You've got to go for jobs no one else will do. Feel like cleaning out Port-a-potties? Deliver Shingles maybe?

Sounds like the OP went to a private CDL school. This is a big problem with most of these places. They will gladly take your 4-8 thousand dollars and get you the promised "Golden Ticket". Most will never even ask about your driving/criminal record, or they will gloss over it. "No big deal" they'll say. "There's a Truck Driver shortage, it's easy to get a job". In my opinion, it is one of the advantages of Company Sponsored Training at the Megas. They will background check you to death. If they won't accept you to their school and give you a job, your choices are going to be real slim. Just my $.02
