There's another guy that's had 8. I'm a little disappointed now with anyone with less than 6.

You've had more jobs in a year than my father had in 42 years of trucking. Granted, some of that is a generational thing, by an large, back then most people weren't whiners that quit the first time something didn't go their way.

The temp agency is a great idea. Companies that hire job hoppers usually aren't places you'd want to work.

The flip side is, it was much easier to get injured on the job and messed up for life because "suck it up".

Agreed. Lots of things about the industry have gotten better over the years. The drivers aren't one of them.

...and a busy week for me. I usually clock in around 1200-1600/week myself.

I'm late into this and have not read all of the responses so with that said,.. maybe trucking is not for you?

Even as an O/O,.. there is an element of self discipline that requires me to stay out until I have chunked enough money away to afford to come home and take time off and still cover my bills and afford the lifestyle that I have created for myself.

There are so many different elements in trucking. Equipment, your home base location, local, OTR, regional,.. etc etc. So while one guy can be home more than others and still earn a decent living. Another guy may have to stay out 4 - 6 weeks in order to satisfy his company's needs.

Its been my experience that when driving for a company,.. there are 2 ways that its going to be. And in my opinion,.. both suck. Your either going to be out on the road, away from home or your going to be home most nights but a typical day will be 14 - 18 hours long 6 days a week. Consider it like a production line. You are just one cog in the wheel and there is an expectation that you need to be productive or you no longer remain as an asset to the company.

So either get used to being driven hard and put away wet (Suck it up buttercup) or find another career. There is more than one way to earn a buck. Trucking is not the be all end all.
