Could anyone tell me if there is a single place I can go to to obtain my COMPLETE DAC? I've lived in three states and have been driving for 32 years. I know I have tickets and the like (no DUI or DWI) and would like to obtain my full report before I start applying to companies. My last two tickets were 6 years ago and nothing since.
I lived in Indiana from beginning to drive to 2010. Then went to Florida in 2010 thru 2012. Alabama 2012 to now, and am moving back to Indiana in a week to start CDL school.
#1 Is it even necessary to get my full report?
#2 On a scale from 1 -10, what is the likelihood a company will go back beyond 5 years to check?

Once again, any advice is MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Your DAC file should have all your CDL history in it. Just get the information where to ask for a copy and get it. Once you get it you should see this.

Wow 32 years and you've got to go back to CDL school? I thought it was like riding a bike you never ever forget, that would be rough to have to go and pay another $5000 to learn how to drive. They should have some kind of refresher course just for drivers with previous experience.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I'm starting a CDL career. Never had the CDL before.

Then most likely you have no DAC either.

then since you never had a CDL, you would not normally be on any DAC/HireRight file.

but you are entitled to ONE FREE report each year, so save that web address i gave you for when you have ONE YEAR, and each year after that.

especially if you switch jobs mid-year, you want to make sure your former employer does not put something there that's not true.

DAC, like a credit report will show what the subscribing trucking company decides to submit. Trucking companies can and do opt out of DAC. I worked 2 years for a company that didn't use DAC. When I changed jobs my DAC showed 1 year at my first company, and nothing else. It looked like I hadn't worked since I left them. I just got someone from my 2 year company to write a letter on letterhead showing my start, end dates and gave a couple of my most recent pay stubs.

    WelshGuy Thanks this.
