I have never worked for Averitt but this is my opinion

Now that's funny...

 

Ya in orientation they tried swelling everyone's ego by telling us we was the best of the best even tho the majority of us at the time was fresh out of school. Averitt is full of them selves but however like someone mentioned in an earlier post they are probably the best company to get your training with fresh out of school but after that you just can't be a real trucker there. There the only truck company I know that doesn't like trucks or truck drivers. And I know that sounds redundant and contradicting but that's how they feel

Exactly that's how stupid they are. They don't like the image that they think being a truck company with truck drivers gives them. They think there all better they think that every truck driver who isn't wearing a uniform like there drivers is a slob who doesn't bath for 6 months

 

I have walked by some that I would have to agree with them.

I believe the reason for the uniforms is about 10 years ago the owner was dressing the company up in an attempt to attract fed/ex to buy them out.. they bought watkins instead.
While i was there i was often mistaken for fedex when walking into a shipper...

That is silly. Averitt is mostly an LTL company and that is the reason for uniforms. Most LTL companies wear uniforms.

They are a LTL company. TL drivers are the red headed step child.

 

BINGO! I don't think the TL division is very strong. Ad a matter of fact I believe their OTL division is more important to some. If you look at their turnover they have very little except in the TL division, where there is a good bit.
