congradulations on that. Take care of him, sounds like you found one of them preverbal needles from the hay stack.

You had your second thoughts and worked thru them. It seems you have indeed found your grave. Lol. You have a good gig & you are happy...you’ll make a lot of others jealous because of that.

On a side note.... back to my op, you are a great local driver who is content with it. After getting used to it, you probably wouldn’t like having a different customer every day, sitting around tank or truck washes. Detention at grocery barns, etc... the longer you stay local, the easier the otr life would annoy you.

The thought of going home after 8-10 hours is comforting. What wears me out is not my job but my kids. I love my boys but every night dealing with a 7 year olds attitude and a 1 year old's diaper and feeding schedule is hard work and exhausting. My wife works 2nd shift and I work day time hours. It reduces child care expenses and she carries the health insurance. She has a county job at a hospital and I can't argue with 70 bucks a week full family coverage no deductible or copay AND a state pension.

This is a typical scenario of a family just starting out.

It becomes Hectic, Do you Need 2 incomes to live?

Reason I'm asking is Its so Hard to Keep up with things when Both family members must work.

I Didn't allow it, My Wife stayed at Home raised the Kids , It was great coming home to April Fresh, smell,Clean Home and Good Food.

Society today ,Wages,Never Followed Inflation,Thus for 2 incomes, But I believe a Good Job can validate a 1 income household

I hear people say that but when health insurance cost through my employer are $800 per month for family plan with high deductible and copay she will be working. Her paychecks aren't all that great but she has a county job that a hospital 70 bucks a week for family no deductible and no copay. Add to that her state funded pension plan. She sadly has copd she was diagnosed at 29. She used to smoke but quit. She also has high blood pressure and mild a diabetic. Everything is controlled with medication. The copd meds alone would be 300 bucks a month without her insurance.

She works because we need good health insurance not garbage that costs more then my mortgage yet never pays out because of the high deductible.

In today's job market you can choose between decent money or good health insurance but not both.

Sadly that's the way it is

Ummm actually that’s factually correct lol The shorter the trailer the more sensitive it is to slight turns of the wheel. You obviously have zero experience backing 20ft containers into grocery doors.

Yes, a shorter wheelbase does make the trailer more squirrelly.

However if you are backing into a 130 inch wide spot with 55 feet in front of the spot would you rather have a 20 ft container or a 53 footer?

This tread has been brought back lol.... Now not only the COPD but she's diabetic. Not full blown insulin but the Dr has her on something called truelicity. It's a shot she takes once a week. With the good insurance this crap has a $400 copay.... She's has an RX card that covers that.

If she didn't have this insurance I could imagine us paying $7-800 per month for her meds. She's also on blood pressure meds.... But that one's not ridiculously priced. The truelicity is literally $100 per dose.

Not only is that truelicity crap criminally outrageously priced its making her throw up on an almost daily basis.

The pharmaceutical companies make me very angry. I hate them. Paying for some ####### executive to buy himself a new leer jet, yatch, mansion, and ######.

The pharmaceutical companies have run amok and the government does nothing to control these multi billion dollar criminals who take advantage of sick people.

As for me I'm doing pretty decent. I usually work 7 days and take 3 or 4 extra loads to the local plant. The extra load is a $16 mile round trip and it pays $50 per load.... It it goes well unload and wash 2 hrs...... 50 bucks extra for 2-1/2 hours work and only driving 14 mile round trip is decent. I have quite a few $1400+ gross weeks and still go home at night.

No matter how much I make she still has to work. I can't eat 7-800 or more per month in medication for her
