    Glad to hear it.
But there is a slight difference between rebuilding an engine and repairing inaccurate information on an incorrect report.
As in thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours, compared to maybe.... one?

One personally written and sent certified letter takes, hmmm, a half hour? Maybe a full hour?
Certainly worth keeping my hard earned $349.00 in my pocket.
And what's this blarney about "follow up phone calls and emails"?
    Not true, son.

And BTW CY, Your photo looks familiar: Looks exactly like an overly exuberant fellow that I saw up in the front row up at "Kittens" gentlemens' club down there on Ring Island awhile back!

Actually BP, I agree with what you say.

Unfortunately, the big Credit and Information reporting companies are corrupt to a point where they intentionally do not follow the laws that were enacted to protect the consumers.

Most consumers these days either don't have the money, the correct information and/or the wherewithal to fight for their rights.

The point and intent that I have been attempting here (as well as to share important, consumer information) has been to nip yet another consumer scheme in the bud; in this particular case the DAC 'fixit' industry.

Simply said, this is another totally unnecessary 'industry' that charges exorbitant fees for a service built upon the average consumer's ignorance.

Bottom line here is that if your DAC can be fixed, you can do it yourself quickly and for free. If the information on your DAC truly is correct, then, if you hired a company to 'fixit', your money will have been thrown away in vain as the information will remain. Same as if you had disputed it yourself.

Now, if the disputed information truly is not correct, yet HireRight (or any other reporting company) continues to report the information, then you have a legal case.

Thanks. I would like to point out that I was in no way endorsing or recommending. I merely thought it was important that people have the information.. Yes people can do this themselves but in many cases individuals especially drivers do not have the time... IMO that is what the carriers bank on that an individual will not do anything.. I also believe that Hire Right and companies like them should run independently of the carriers. Which while they represent they do it is evident they are bought and paid for by the carriers.

Maybe the industry should not be around but when someones career and lively hood can be taken away as easily as this then the consumer should have the knowledge of what is available to them.. Plus as you mention the big credit reporting agencies the thing is in most cases they do not have the ability or power to keep a person from making a living. Hire Right has that power and the carriers are using it to destroy peoples lives because they can.
