Never will forget that trip, I believe it was in the 70's. It was amazing all the truck setting on the side of I-10 with their hoods up. Never seen nothing like it before or since.

I went on to the old McLains Truck Stop where I usually fueled. I asked them did they have any fuel filters. They said they did not, that there was not a fuel filter left in El Paso but we have a bunch of them on the way. Said they had been raided because of all the water the Petro was selling.

I've walked into so many truck stop bathrooms and walked right out of them; I can't elaborate further or this post will be banned

About two years ago 20 or 30 stations in the Indianapolis area had contaminated gas, caused a huge mess, fortunately it was just regular unleaded and not diesel. Either way no one wants to deal with a broken fuel pump from bad gas.

Yes...get there in a minute. First thing is to stay out of low traffic stops. Hate to say it but stay with the big ones. Then you can get some paint stir sticks, a mason jar , gloves and paper towels along with a tube of water detection paste. Ask Gashauler where to get it. If you suspect, fill the mason jar, wait a few and put paste on the stir stick and immerse, water turns the paste pink.

    Good luck

And the big one was the one selling water.
So, no, that does not work.
