FireLotus hit the nail on the head. You are the common denominator in all these situations of bad trainer, bad management, bad situation. If you're mature enough to start a family then you need to be mature enough to realize that you are involved in all these situations. While we can't control the situation, we can control our response to it.

    Event + Response = Outcome

Your bad trainer, bad management, and bad situation are all your "Events" (and keep in mind, we only have one side of the story). And all your "Outcomes" have been job loss or left the job. Therefore, the only thing you can control is your "Response".

If I were you, I wouldn't be too picky. It doesn't sound like you have many more "Events" you can place yourself in before your living area is picked clean, so to speak.

Get with driver services and request a new trainer. Getting on the internets and dragging your past or present employers through the mud is probably the last thing you want to do. It is probably why you were fired from rist. Just saying.

werner says i am eligible for rehire but they asked me why rist let me go. im not sure what to tell them if i get serious about going back. i dont think there is anything rist could have put on my DAC score considering i didnt hit anything or get any tickets. he said he needs to make sure it wasnt a safety reasoning, if it was a safety violation it would show up on my DAC score. do i need to call rist and find out. at present i want to pursue that interview on wendsday but if that falls on its face i want to know i can go back from where i came

Didn't you say the Rist trainer didn't like the way you made turns? If that's the truth then just say they didn't want to invest the time to train you more.

This is good news for you... you know you can go back to Werner if you don't find something else... so that takes the edge off..

Personally I think it is lame that they let you go for not liking your turns.. that is something that can and should be taught... And I am sure Werner won't care about that..

Good luck on your interview and don't sweat it... you already have a job at Werner if you want it..

That is actually very true... as a recruiter/staffing agent I do know how true that is... some industries have multiple assessment tests the applicant has to pass just to get the interview.. from aptitude test, personality test and skills test...

of course a big part of that is the fact there has always been a driver shortage, they have seats to fill. for the same reasons i wish to not do it, is the same reason many other people make the same choice. how many CDL holders are there with useable licenses that decide not to use the license OR yet how many CDL holder give up their cdl's for the same reason.

    would be some interesting statistics.

And the new "Snowflake Tests" for non-trucking jobs.

350,000 trucking companies in America and you choose to return to Werner?
    Doesn't make sense.
