i know that the only werner drivers that have decent power inverters and perhaps even APU's are the million milers. to heck with everyone else. 140W limit on power inverters and if they find anything bigger in your truck they confiscate it. doesnt matter who installed it.
i have to admit this is tempting

72 sounds nice, and there are areas that have 70 mph speed limits.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
PLEASE PEOPLE Leave me alone, I stretch my mind enough to squeak out this work around to the 140 watt limit. It's really hard to concisely describe it in my language so bear with me.
Get two 140's Make them live from your truck as normal. When they are active and ready to supply power, plug in what is called a special Phase Combiner. It's a yoke that goes into two generators to double and combine the output into one bigger plug to create in your case a 300 watter that should do a good job.
That is all I can write here about this work around and try not to screw it up for those who will come later and post more and much better information about what I am trying to describe.
I value freedom, and I'll be dam ed if someone tells me no you cannot use a 500 watt or whatever. I see where they come from... but nuh uh not in this life time.Chinatown Thanks this. -
OP, you got your CDL in November. We're now approaching the 2nd full week of April, and you are an unemployed trucker, less than one year experience, with 2 jobs in less than six months.
You got fired from a company that has a known, statewide reputation for hiring both marginal, low-time drivers and experienced drivers in need of a "second chance". I have personal experience in their fuel haul division. They will give a motivated, eager to learn driver every chance to succeed. I personally witnessed them give a guy FIVE WEEKS training to learn to drive a stick. You got fired after 1.5 weeks because "they didn't like the way you turn." I call BS, sir. Either you are withholding information, or that is the reason they gave you. I think they recognized you right away and took an opportunity to divest themselves of a "problem child".
You have been given I-don't-know HOW many pages of sound employment and life advice by dozens of people on this forum. You have taken none of it. You continue to rage, whine, and post "what should I do" at intervals sometimes as short as six minutes. If I had a family of two with one on the way and my house flirting with foreclosure, I'd spend a lot less time on the computer and find three part-time jobs to at least get the money coming in. Is this an optimal way to make a living? No. But I know it works because I have done it.
Even Chinatown, who seems to make it his mission in life to help everyone on this forum find a job, seems, at least to me, to be getting just a LITTLE bit impatient.
I know some people won't look for a glass of water until their butt is on fire, but that beeping you hear is the smoke detector on your back going off.
I apologize for the long post, I'm gonna sum up, and I will say no more.
Ready?
GET OFF YOUR ### AND GET A JOB,
TROLL!
I wish you every success.marnium, driverdriver, Dumdriver and 4 others Thank this. -

I do agree... it is time to get to work.. just another little bit of information for you to consider... this again, is from someone who is a recruiter/staffing agent.. I have present and past experiences is hiring people.. or, not hiring..
1. It is easier to get a job when you have a job! It is the psychology of the hiring process.. a person who is already employed and working is used to waking up, getting to work, and all... a person who is unemployed is out of those habits.. and statically have more incidents of being late to work, calling into work, having scheduling conflicts. The longer you go with out any job makes harder for you to get a job
For example if I have two candidates where all things are equal except one has been unemployed for 4 months and the other has been working at a fast food place for 4 months so they would have some income.. I would hire the one working at the fast food place..
Chances are both of them expressed how they have a family and responsibilities and need the job.. but, only one showed that they take responsibility seriously.. the one who is working.. because little money an hour is more than zero an hour.. the one working is showing through his actions that he will do what he needs to meet his obligations and responsibilities...
When you understand it through that lense.. who would you hire.. the one who is being responsible or the one who isn't..
2. With a CDL.. especially in your first year or two.. time out of the seat matters.. meaning the longer you are not driving... what little experience you have is becoming less valuable...
3. Accountability... where are you holding yourself accountable for where you are.. your circumstances...
Do you realize your role in being where you are...
So, let's recap.. you want a job that pays you good money... $16 or more an hour on average.. (because trucking is per mile.. I said on average..)
yet.. you are willing to earn nothing unless your are paid that... that is demonstrated in your quitting or not just getting back to work doing anything so that your earn something until you can earn what you want..
When I first started as a staffing agent..I went to bat for a guy and took a gamble.. when he came in he had been unemployed 3 months since cut backs at his company and was let go.. so at first glance.. not great... but, he pulled out a folder and in it he had letters from people who he had done odds and end work for.. from cleaning out garages and yard clean up, installed a dishwasher, even house and dog sat for a neighbor.. all sorts of stuff...all paid in cash... but, he showed he kept himself busy and earning an income was important.. I was impressed so I called a couple of clients that I thought would be good for him.. he didn't have the experience or qualifications they wanted.. but finally I did get one of the construction companies to give him a shot...
now, I knew he didn't have a tool belt or the basic tools nor the money to go out and get them.. but, I had one with some tools to get him through a few paydays till he could upgrade.. he stopped by and picked them up before going to the job site..
My instincts were right.. this guy would make a great employee.. a year later to the day.. a nice pickup truck pulling a trailer pulled in to my driveway.. I thought it was one of my clients.. but no.. it was him.. he had done so well that they gave him a company truck and his own small crew.. he came to say thank you and gave me a tool belt in case someone like him needed it...
So seriously.. take a serious look at yourself.. and ask.. do I really even want to work.. do I really want to provide for my family.. do I have a backbone... and are all my actions in line with what I say is important to me and what I want..Last edited: Apr 8, 2017

I think you have demonstrated to me a form of patience with my ... opinions and I value yours. I hope that you and i can continue to learn from one another. -
I have spotted any number of Volvo 700 series tractors hanging out at walmart shopping for provisions with the new (To me..) Tripack humming away maintaining hotel support to the cab and sleeper. I thought it was a great thing since sliced bread. And totally regreat all the years that trucking companies flat refused to spend the 5000 ###### dollars and accept a few hundred pound of weight penalty to at least by god provide a way to cool and warm that driver on a couple of gallons by night and day instead of god knows how much at 1400 rpm with the giant engine up front.marnium Thanks this. -
I worry that our Millenials have been sissified so much by safe spaces and PC issues in their earlier lfie that they are unable to function in the face of some real no *&^% condrundums in trucking as it happens in real time. Some act out as a petulant and angry 9 year old who wont put down the video game 5 minutes to take out the trash for dear Mom.Offroad1978 and FireLotus Thank this.
