i will call both of those tomorrow. problem is i dont know of allot of these companies. thanks for the advice. add to that i am going to the $16 interview tomorrow and i applied with tesla, they have built a large factory here called solar city. im using my CDL is one of my options but not my only option. at this point i dont think im going to return to the OTR lifestyle. the wife isnt going to mow the lawn, my property will look like crap. she's not gonna clean the pool. she's also 6 weeks pregnant not a good time for me to leaving. maybe if my kids were grown and a little more independent i would think differently. i have to work but also be a dad, a husband, and a homeowner.

Sounds like a plan buddy. Let us know how the interview goes tomorrow.

seems encouraging. i liked CEC. the idea that i can drive a truck without living in it, the thing that i really hated about trucking. they said they were going to review my MVR and perhaps call me for a road test. they are looking for both B class drivers and A class drivers.
as far as the interview at the factory job, i kept my mouth shut but was kind of discouraged. i get there and discover that its a temp service. the ad was very deceiving frankly there was someone standing in line who i could tell was annoyed. he asked out loud if this was for a temp service OR for the company. very deceptive ad made no mention of a temp service. what is it with these people? be truthful in your job ads. NOT fully disclosing who i was applying to work for is highly deceptive AND is not a good way to start an employment relationship. i need a job and if CEC falls through, i would take a job but they are not off to a good start, as far as im concerned. you literally go to the facility where you will work and discover that a temp service has set up shop there. no mention of it until you start reading the applications and discover that there is a notice that SPS will drug test you (a temp service). that put a bad taste in my mouth
i felt better about the interview at CEC and hope i can get a job there. a chance to stay near home and gain experience while doing it. there loads are typically 75 mile radius from the "terminal". i would be able to stay near the community i live, and when they work is done i get in my car and go home. sounds great. no NYC, new jersey, long island, california ect ect. -

had the interview, passed the roadtest but they had one more guy to evaluate. they told me i would know by Monday. i think it went well but it depends upon if the other driver does better or worse on the roadtest
Boattlebot Thanks this. -
they told me to come in monday for a job offer, which im going to accept. looking forward to it, a trucking job that gets me home at night which is what i wanted when i got my CDL. i never wanted to sleep in a truck.
thanks guys for the good leads. i appreciate it.TaterWagon#62 Thanks this. -
I'm glad you got the job. Congratulations!
Keep in mind that there will be really long weeks and occasionally short weeks. And farm lanes are not always easy to get into or out of. Tiny little country intersections can be challenging. Shoulders? What shoulders?
And, yes, that mud hole right there is where they expect you to put that trailer and not get stuck.
