question regarding my DAC report. how does this work? im filling out an application for prime so i will use that as an example.if exclude wadhams from my work history, will it show up on my DAC report anyways and then i am not giving full disclosure. i talked with someone i know who drove for many years and he said leave it out. do i have to disclose that i worked for rist even though it was only 1-1/2 week period. there were no accidents, tickets or report-able events during that time period.

can i fill out my applications and not even list rist.

Thats on you if you want to list Rist or not. Just be prepared to answer any and all gaps in your employment history to a prospective employer. As far as the DAC goes, i wouldn't stress about it too much, most reasonable companies want to fill a seat, so as long as you didn't have a preventable or a reckless ticket you should be fine

Probably the fact you lasted only a few months at Werner and two weeks at RIST. Companies don't like job hoppers.

I know drivers with more experience than I have that didn't get hired on ( they can afford to be more selective since they're a smaller outfit), so I wouldn't take it personal, move on to the next
I was going to add that too @Florida Playboy but ya beat me to it lol

Well.... first....no one or company actually owes you a job!!

You interview with the temp staffing agency because they are the ones who will match you up with companies based on your qualifications and the companies/clients requirements... the company.. who is a client of the temp agency interviews you because you are being sent their as a potential candidate for hire... because you meet their requirements...

There are labor ready stafffing agencies where you show up or call in and they send you somewhere to work for the day.. but, there is no guarantee they will have something for you everyday.. and they usually operate on a first call basis.. meaning if they have enough work for 10 people that day.. generally the first 10 to call or show up at the office get it... some pay you daily while others weekly...

I do understand how frustrating to be looking for a job, and unfortunately rejections are a part of it.. especially if a company has called you in for a second or third interview and have it narrowed down between you and one other.. and they go with thee other one...

In all honesty, two simple interviews are not that hard.. panel interviews, where you are being interviewed by a panel of three or more interviewers all asking questions and writing down notes every time you speak can be very intimidating... at my firm, we do help people with their interview skills...

It costs to hire a new employee.. in the trucking industry is cost a company around $5,000 to $9,000. The average cost to replace an employee are: 16% of annual salary for high-turnover, low-paying jobs (earning under $30,000 a year). For example, to replace a $10/hour retail employee would be $3,328. 20% of annual salary for mid-range positions (earning $30,000 to $50,000 a year)

I know, none of this matters or concerns you.. you are just looking for a job.. however, it does impact you, as more and more companies are weeding out applicants who have a history or look like a potential job hopper..

Also, keep in mind, just because you see a job posted on craigslist, Indeed, Careerbuilderr, Monster or wherever does not mean that the position is actually open at the present time... a lot of the posting you see are fishing postings... where an add is place to start collecting applications and weeding through them

i have worked for two different temp services in the past. power personell and SPS, both of them led to full time jobs. neither required this stupid interview with the client nonsense. that's the point of the temp service in the first place. give you a shot and if you did what they asked they would keep you. of course this was years ago.

the temp service model serves absolutely NO point to the worker only to strip them of a per-determined X amount of money from their paychecks. there is absolutely NO benefit to the employee.

now they get to weed you out before you even get to work for the stupid temp service. perhaps we should just get rid of them like the turd that they are to begin with. at least in the past i could count on them as an easy way to get a job. if you didnt work out, they cancelled you. although that never happens to me. i might not be great at interviewing, but when its time to get to work i am able to show my strenghts and outwork anyone else. i have a drive to get it done that most people dont have anymore.

its almost impossible to get a job without these scum bags. i tried.

if i didnt have a family i would have excelled at this trucking thing.

You can STILL excel at this trucking thing, you just can't give up.

    Spallina Materials (MT. Morris)
    Hi-Vu Acres (Oakfield)
    Airtite Wholesale Building Materials (Clarence)
    CRH-Oldcastle - Cheektowaga, NY
    Regional Integrated - Attica, NY
    Walton Milk Hauling

Most of these I got off of Page 1 on Indeed, need more?

I'm sorry, most company's HR and Saftey departments suck golf balls through a garden hose. They want you to bend over backwards for their measley pittance while taking your suggestions with a grain of salt.

I never liked nor tolerated tag team interviews, a rediculous waste of time, only looking for the most consumate of rear end polishers.

    Airtite Wholesale Building Materials
    walton milk hauling

applied at both already. airtite the other day waltons, before i went to werner. i might try waltons again. last night and today i lost count of how many i applied for. i applied for nearly all of the listing even if experience was required. i had a local flatbed company call me, he said his insurance wont let them hire me. i will apply for anything i have not applied for yet. hi-valu acres says it requires a year but i throw one out there anyways.

one of the things that he did say, if i hold onto my CDL for a year he said to call him back, even if i didnt drive in that year he can "force it" through the insurance. he said he hates the insurance obstacle, but right now nothing he can do for me.
