Florida does not have enough outbound.... But with trucking you can live just about anywhere. So where you are now is prolly just fine

I leased on to Watkins Shepard years ago. Decent outfit to work for. It has been a while since I was there so things may have changed but that was a small outfit out of Montana and generally nice folks.

Look into Maverick. I pull reefer n live in TX. Check out the website, tey r hiring 100 reefer drivers. Pay is 500 for orientation, 500/wk for training.. TCD starts out at 35 cpm, 3 months goto 38, 6 months goto 41 cpm n 1 yr 42 cpm. Top out at 45 or 45.5 cpm. I have been with them for a year. Best company that I've found that pays good..

Thank you so much for your comment. I will definitely consider your advice. As I told earlier, your advice will form my future. I was thinking earlier about Virginia, but my friends tell me it is so expensive over there. Any advice on which state would be good??

Maybe it will sound stupid, but really dont have any idea. First couple years, I wont have my family with me, so I would like to work for long hauls, and then readjust my situation when my family arrives to shorter distances. Which one would be good you think for such a plan??

Texas isn't bad.. I moved from Iowa to just east of Dallas.. There is to state tax here. I think Tennesee is also, maybe a couple other states. The property tax is high in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. But if u go east out of the metro plex it gets cheaper. If u have kids look for a good school for them, since they will be running the country when we are still driving or sitting in the recliner.

Go check out the Maverick sub forum here.. Many of us post every day and all ur ?'s will get an answer in a day or two

Since this looks like a good thread to post this:

Seen many mixed reviews on Central Reefer and I am looking to tease out a few more, preferably people who have worked with them or have had close friends/family work for them.

Best thing to do is go to a truck stop and go ask them drivers how they like it. Get their side of the story.
