Is it true that adding hydrogen to your fuel mixture will increase your overall MPG? I have heard good things about these units and was just curious how you felt? I would appreciate your feedback before I spend the money. Thanks!

I have been doing some research on line about hydrogen , from what I have read I think the unit are scams. The units run of your electrical system so you are using your motor to supply electricity to the unit, intern casing a load on your alternator whit uses engine power. Also I think I read some where it can cause water to enter you engine. It seems the thing with hydrogen is that it take more energy to make it than it produces. I think if you want to save money on fuel you should look into making you own biodiesel out of waste vegetable oil, their are many site that can show you how.

i too have been researching dual fuels, and am not convinced that it can increase mpg by 50% or more.

i looked at the lpg syestem but did'nt think it was cost effective enough to warrant a purchase of the componets and you want the power than go with pitts. power imo.

the hydrogen tech is interesting and if it can work out and be effecient that would put the screws to the oil companies and to that i say hell yeah!!

Better driving habits will give you a noticable and immediate increase in your fuel mileage. I started concentrating of progressive shifting, being gentle with the fuel pedal, slowing well in advance of any stops not acelerating quickly, etc and I am getting up to 6.75 in a Pete 379 and averaging about 6.25. I know some of you driving aero trucks are laughing, but for a classic that is pretty good mileage.

yeah that's what i am driving, and struggling to get over 6 with all the heavy loads that they have been giving me.

my best has been 6.9 but that was empty over half of the trip.

The factors which affect fuel mileage; weight, terrain, weather(head or tail wind) speed (engine speed) and idling. Hiway speed has a minimal effect depending on RPM (engine speed). Anything above 55mph aerodynamics comes into play, but ....there is one thing that cannot change. The air to fuel ratio. The computers control this. It takes X amount of fuel to produce X amount of HP (torque/energy).

The things we have NO control over are huge contributing factors. Idling tho' is probably the "largest culprit"....but like I have said since I started driving a company truck..."when they (the co.owners and the EPA) get serious about fuel mileage so will I".
But since it is all a scam...guess what?

If I were an O/O I would have an auxiliary power source. That will reduce your idling fuel consumption by 40% to 50% (.6 to .75 gph compared to .3 to .4gph and you ain't even moving!) when you have to have a/c and heat, which is often.

Nice looking ride there T2000ISX! Kind of reminds me of....mine! LOL I have a Pete 387 same color as yours. I haven't had it long enough to run with it yet (it is at rig master getting that installed and a second bunk) but when I do I certainly hope I post numbers in the 7's.
