Antenna tuners/matchers are unnecessary when our job revolves around a single frequency, not to mention the use of those devices instills laziness in the user and limits their ability to think outside the box in regards to station efficiency. It is a lot more rewarding achieving the seemingly impossible to the uninitiated on a single frequency than limited efficiency across a huge spectrum.
I imagine the RCI-2950 isnt the best Mobile Radio anymore? - WHAT IS???

I have a lot of fun aiming high for maximum efficiency on a single frequency.
It's very enjoyable being told that I'm a liar when I tell people that I am in a mobile at a specific location. I enjoy being told that what I am doing is completely impossible and outside the laws of physics. -
I had sold some securement equipment to a guy who spent $5k on his rig's cb setup, from the mic to the amp to the extremely overpriced antenna. How is he doing? Well I can hear him about 100 miles away but he can't hear more than 3.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

The RANGER RCI-2950 was what I was dying for when they first came out. Way beyond what this driver could afford then.
Just the other day I realized it would be a lot of fun with the RM ITALY KL7505v I bought last year.
Mount them in the TRC-2 Radio Carrier chassis. Hmmmm
