Frost is nice too, makes things more interesting. ;)

Uncle was trying to load a rubber tired loader years ago on a stiff neck. Muddy as all get out still raining, slipping like a hog on ice trying to get up the back of the trailer.

He grabbed a bucket of gravel and spread it out behind the stiff neck, ran through the gravel a few times to coat the mud covered tires and it walked on up on the trailer…… little things.

Yes they can, I started heavy haul in 2015, only a couple years even being a truck driver, having never touched any construction equipment previously. Was able to figure out every machine I had to self load, only 1 time did I slip off the deck in raining conditions, not a big deal, back off and try again. It's really quite simple imo.

There are many things that some of us have been able to BS our way though without proper training. I still would prefer to ship an expensive, specialized piece of equipment with someone experienced and properly trained, than with someone who is learning as they go.

Do you think you are a better choice for someone to ship their excavator today with 9 years of experience than with someone who has never done it?

One of my customers, he’s a good guy now but, first few loads I hauled for him he was trying to be helpful and secure the machine…. dozer.

His technique was not satisfactory to me at all! I had to correct most of his anchor points on my lowboy, he just hooked to anything anywhere and most would not stop the machine from sliding if the brakes were applied hard…..

My grandmother of all people, a good Christian country girl who was as honest as the day was long told me many years ago. “Sometimes you have to act like you know what you are doing and by the time they figure out you don’t know what you are doing, you will know what you are doing”.
Had I done that in my current business model it would have cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and likely caused my work to be taken away. Fortunately I got trained properly before going out on my own and I made it a successful venture. Those who have snuck by without any training are extremely lucky.

Not really, the load gets on the trailer just the same as the first time I did it. No need to over exaggerate or over complicate the most basic things lol.

That company from 2015-19, new equipment direct from a manufacturer, and then alot of new equipment from the ports for a backhaul. Sometimes used equipment. Deliver to dealerships or straight to the jobsites/mines.

Just got back into heavy haul a couple weeks ago as I found a comapny paying 200k plus. First load is used equipment going to a mine.

You may want to quit bragging about that 200 plus until after you have done 200 plus. Just trying to save you some embarrassment 6 months down the road when you are complaining about how a carrier lied to you. Also with 4 years of heavy haul experience I wouldn’t consider you a real experienced driver. I know this post is going to anger you, but consider what I’m saying.
