3000 miles a week @ 43 cpm = $1,290 gross
6000 miles over two weeks @ 43 cpm for first 5000, 53 cpm for last 1000 = $2,680 gross
Do I need to get into add pays now or can you see where I'm going with this?
I just quit my 65 cpm job

It's still very little money. If I stay out for two weeks I expect to gross at least $4000 (1099).Oldironfan Thanks this.

You don't need to explain anything. 43cpm for first 3000 miles isn't as good as 53cpm for first 300 miles.diesel drinker Thanks this.

$96k gross for the year... Will .be a bit harder to do on elogsOldironfan Thanks this.

No duh. My original point, in case you missed it, was that a higher cpm doesn't mean more money if you aren't running enough miles. A lower cpm with greater miles equals more money per week.
My original point was showing the difference between pure mileage pay and running less miles for a larger rate not giving the driver a greater income.
I'm not sure how 1099 situations work, but I'm a company driver who gets home every 5-6 days and is guaranteed 2500 miles a week. The only thing I'd want to do more is drive a nicer truck in the same situation.free spirited1 Thanks this. -
$2000 a week should be the average in these days if you max out your 70.Oldironfan Thanks this.

Ya just got to work at it. I grossed 85k on 95k miles last year. My base rate was 43 cpm but once you figure in over dimensional pay, tarp pay, lots of layovers at 250 a day, ect it was almost 90cpm. But it #### sure isn’t for everyone.Oldironfan Thanks this.
