You would think the company would get him tested out in a manual if he was as good a driver/employee as you say.

And where you regularly deliver. Every time I drive past that dairy and see milk trucks lined up there I wonder if one of them is the OP.

Could be. I often wonder if someone posting here has ever been to oatka. It's a huge facility allot of 53ft Van trailers load here. I also go to Upstate farms cheese in Campbell, west Seneca bison, dale rd facility, occasionally sorrento, and once went to Rochester. I'd go Pretty much anywhere within 100 miles if they needed it.

I suppose you have to be careful on a forum because you dont know who might be looking. The guy in question doesn't WANT to drive manual so he wont get tested. I'm sure if he asked, they would. I believe his autoshift was fixed within a couple of days.

By the same token I really will avoid an autoshift as much as I can, but I dont have anything legally baring me from driving one. Different strokes for different folks.

There’s no good reason I can think of that the company hasn’t bothered to get him a road test to upgrade his license to remove the restriction.

I've only been to Oatka a few times to deliver alcohol and load eggnog, but drive past it a lot when going to another dairy plant nearby.

I'll bet that DOT wouldn't even catch it if he were pulled in for an inspection.

He told one of the workers at my farm (we both go there every other day rotating) he likes driving 84 and shifting it. He ought to get retested so he can drive what he wants. He drove class b tanker manual for a long time
