Yeah, that one and Western Express. He has a good chance for a CDL-A job right out of school with that ticket.

A bad OTR company will make it very hard to work for them. That's why I suggest finding an alternative like dump truck IF YOUR ERRORS SCARE OFF all but the worst employers. This industry might be a rescue for you like it rescued some of the rest of us.NavigatorWife, Doug_xx2, Chinatown and 2 others Thank this. -
I second the dumptruck stragety. I operated with a crew of three, plus corner tool men gathered into the back of the tool truck. I was essentially restricted A having a beaver trailer that was airbrakes on the pintle hook. But a full CDL A takes care of that.
I did it for a number of years and if i ever go east, the Mack 500 is quietly waiting for the sunrise cranking on the farm. Its one of those jobs for life.
No logs no nothing. Just keep a eye on a lawman for one particular bridge that was rated for less than I was some jobs.NavigatorWife and Doug_xx2 Thank this. -
I only received a speeding ticket not a citation for reckless driving
I only got a speeding ticket not a reckless driving charge. I was going by these when I assumed it wouldn't disqualify me from driving.

Am I correct?
I won't lie about it job or no job. I don't do that anymore. Unless it's about fish or dates with pretty women lol[/QUOTE]
Hey, I'm not talking about losing your license. All I'm saying is 17mph over the speed limit is not a good thing to have. Trucking companies everywhere look at 15mph and over to make sure their drivers are clean. If your state wants to make it harder then so be it. But I don't think the termination is correct between the two. The state vs of reckless driving is, Quote "driving at twice the posted limit". Doesn't make sense to me.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Forms were available at the US offices of the
Canadian Consulate in the larger cities and the process includes affidavits from the local PD and others saying you have rehabilitated yourself.
It costs too and you send it all in and wait for an answer.
I knew a co-worker who was flying in for the annual meeting and he had to post a bond to be allowed to attend for the weekend.
Remember if Canadian customs asks 'were you EVER arrested"...they already have the answer in front of them! Tell the truth.NavigatorWife, x1Heavy and Doug_xx2 Thank this. -
I thought you were saying that 15 mph over was a reckless driving charge. They consider 25 over reckless driving here in Colorado as far as I understand it. I wasn't trying to be disagreeable though. I was legitimately asking if I was incorrect in my understanding of the laws that might legally disqualify me to drive on either a federal or state level. If that was the point being made I need to know it if I am wrong. I really appreciate all the help you guys have given me on this. I honestly expected to be flamed into deleting the post and leaving. I'm so glad that isn't what has happened.
Thank youNavigatorWife Thanks this. -
You're qualified to drive a CMV when you graduate from CDL school.
Trucking companies look at 15 mph or more over the speed limit as reckless driving; doesn't matter what state laws are. -
