HI All
I live in Stlouis mo. I will be graduating soon. Im looking for a premium company that gets their drivers home, pays the best and has the best benefits. I recently received a pre hire letter from Crete. But, they dont have any terminals in Missouri so i figure I wont be getting home very often. In fact, their training period of 8 weeeks is awfully long compared to other companies. Anyone have any recommendations?.
thanks
Crunch
I live in Stlouis mo what company would u recommend?

Just because a company does not have terminals in your area does not mean you will not get home... Crete runs through MO on a regular basis... along with 1000's of other trucking companies. This is a major trucking lane where you live. If you want to make an easy decision, park out by the nearest thruway to your home.. I-44.. I-55 and see which company name in your league of driving passes you by the most. Then again, this may not be so easy, cause there are tons of trucks that roll through the St Louis area. You may want to get with a company that hauls a lot of beer... especially Bud, cause then you know they will be getting you home, at least sometime! and most likely, you will always have a load back out of hometime...ehh?
Cruise out by the beer plant and take note of who's trucks/trailers are mostly on the lot and give em a call... Ya never know. And not to worry, Us good old boys down here in Texas will make sure you always have plenty of beer to haul and job security.Last edited: Mar 11, 2010

There's a Schneider terminal right across the river in Edwardsville.

Look into Panera Bread or St Louis Bread company.

Beelman is another company to check out. I'm not 100% sure if they hire students or not, but they'd definitely get you home. They haul end dumps and pneumatic tanks mostly. Getting started in a specialized freight company would be good, IMO. I pull pneumatics and hopper bottoms, am home every day, and make the same or more than I made OTR hauling dry van and reefer freight.

Maverick is right across the river. You would be in a excellent location with them. They get you home when you are not even close to them.
