Looks like the road I took when 1-40 was washed out. Hit NC line, turned to dirt!!! I was in a Jeep Cherokee on vacation, best part of the whole trip, Had a few With big travel trailers going through, they made it, unless they ran into this idiot, Lol that’s crazy!!

 

i ran jeep trails once threw the Cherokee national forest on the tn side back to us64 in nc. mtn top too mtn top all washed out road. gps was dead on the money too

 

Right the good old days

 

I had gotten off I 40 e. In Tn. @ the exit w/ Abe Lincoln Cabin co. Followed that road through the park, Stopped at a little store/ restaurant called. “ Mommas” in NC, had lunch went on to Cherokee. I’m ready for a vacation now, it’s been years. This time it’s a Chalet w/ a hot tub !!! Love that part of the country.

 

Me being able to use my own fuel card makes that possible.

 

Yeah, back when the truckstops had decent restaurants.......

Of course, I don't miss standing in line for the 10 o'clock check call......

Or walking a mile or two from my disabled tractor to call the shop.....

Walk back to tractor. Check it. No fix. Walk back to payphone.....
